Health anxiety is not a choice. It's not a character flaw. It's not even unusual. It's what happens when your nervous system is stuck on high alert long after it detected a threat.

It takes time to soothe an activated nervous system. In today's world where we're constantly bombarded with negative stimuli, it's practically normal to get stuck there, in the cycle. And the more stuck you are, the harder it is to get out. Especially if you're on your own.

You know the tools that work. CBT. ERP. ACT. Meditation. Mindfulness. They're not experimental - they're the gold-standard treatments used in specialist clinics worldwide. You've probably tried them, or at least read about them. Maybe you've even had periods where they helped.

But when life gets busy. Or anxiety gets loud. Or therapy ends. Or you're stuck on a waitlist for months. Then the cycle starts again.

The problem isn't that solutions don't exist. It's that doing the right things consistently is genuinely hard, and 10x harder when your nervous system is permanently on-edge.

We got early access to OpenAI GPT 5.4. Here's the 🍵 :
️
We ran it through Zapier's internal evals + benchmarking (testing AI models on real workflows sales, marketing, ops, support).

Yes it has a 1M token context window, but the biggest difference we saw with 5.4 = Persistence.

Where older models might try 3–5 times and give up, 5.4 keeps going, sometimes 40 turns.

It performed particularly well (in extreme reasoning mode) on:

1️⃣ Multi-step tool chains
Example: Pull Gmail feedback → analyze sentiment → route to the right Slack channel → mark emails processed → update a tracker. Older models sometimes drop the thread mid-way.

2️⃣ Sheets-heavy workflows
Example: Cross-reference rows across multiple tabs, resolve fuzzy name/ID matches, update statuses, then trigger follow-ups.
In our Google Sheets category, 5.4 hit highest pass rate vs other frontier models.
5.4 will run long, exhaustive search/pagination sequences (we saw up to 42 consecutive google_sheets_get_many_rows calls) to find buried records; other models often abort early or ask for exact IDs.

3️⃣ Messy coordination workflows
Example: Check a partnership tracker → figure out who needs a nudge → send follow-ups → update the sheet → avoid duplicates.
In one social partnerships (marketing) workflow, 5.4 led at a double digit pass rate, edging out 5.2 and outperforming other models.

Main tradeoff? That persistence is eager, can move fast at the risk of missing data, passing infrastructure/turn limits, or take noisy actions instead of gracefully degrading.
