Nine years ago I was the guy who was too shy to speak to people at networking events. Even when I did pluck up the courage, it felt all people valued was my job title or my budget rather than me as a person.

I knew I wanted to meet other marketers and learn about marketing in a safe space, so when I couldn't find it, I made it.

The Marketing Meetup is a positively lovely community for marketers. (Basically, we all look after each other and treat one another as people first 😊)

Through good luck and hard work, in the years since, I (as part of a big team effort!) have built a global community of 50,000+ lovely marketers with a social following of 250k+.

Each week, we're lucky to have amazing guest speakers such as Mark Ritson, Rory Sutherland, Seth Godin and many more share time with our community - educating and connecting us all.

Starting flomotion came out of a very real problem I was experiencing, after more than 35 years of a sedentary working career in graphics and design. My posture was poor, I wasn't very flexible and had developed aches and pains in my neck, shoulders and lower back. Basically my energy and productivity was low.

I've spent the last 6 years on a journey of discovery, my growing awareness and openness to learning has given me insights into developing an holistic approach to active working, that is so much more than just sitting, perching or standing at work.

During those 7/8 hrs in the workplace, I've realised the vital importance of moving more, developing and strengthening our posture, stretching out, engaging in short bouts of exercise to get our heart rate up, deeper breathing, better hydration and the importance of ergonomics. This happens through growing our awareness and being mindful - making sure we take regular micro breaks and check in to see how our bodies are feeling. Making that re-connection between the mind and body.

We are now confident in sharing our knowledge and expertise in an active working MOVEment, especially when combined with our sit-stand desks, active stools and ergonomic office chairs.

The results will be better posture and flexibility, more energy, increased productivity and huge benefits to your long term health and wellbeing.

We provide ongoing support as you progress along your personal active working journey. We also provide and share information, resources, scientific research and advice, so we can help you make a well informed decision on whether to change from sedentary to active working.

We run regular workshops for our local customers, going through the 40-2 programme we've put together, explaining in detail our holistic philosophy.
