One radically simple lifehack you can implement today…

Here it goes:

- Pick someone you love, care about, or appreciate. 
- Open the messages app on your phone. 
- Drop an audio text, telling them that. 
- Repeat for 2 more people. 

That’s it. 

If you do 3 per day for 30 days. You’ll be astonished by the rewards. Not for you. But for all parties involved.

Start w/ your parents, if they’re still w/ you. 

That alone is blessing enough to keep going.

It’s been an amazing year and I’m just here to say thanks for all of the calls, clients, coaching sessions, wrapping up an amazing 4.5 yr run at Anchor, my wife and kids and friends, our local move, my sabbatical…

All of it. And all of you.

The right friends will make you a little bit uncomfortable. Not because they’re putting you down…

But because they’re challenging you to more. 

Find those friends.

Don’t have them. 
Please fight to find them. 

“The best way to make new friend is to be a good friend” and recognize few people will ever come up to you and say “want to be friends?” as an adult. 

Go look for people doing the things you want to be doing and do your best to join them. 

Or, simply do the things you want to be doing and invite others to join. 

My two favorite paths above.

The day you realize you are 100% responsible for your life, your thoughts, and your actions. 

Is the same day you become free.

And the possibilities for your life…

Are now nearly limitless. Or at the very least, much larger than they’ve ever been before.

Dropping my raw & honest reply to a question I was asked this week. 

Real talk, I’d like to hear your thoughts too. 

Here it goes: 

“I’m 6-7yrs into my career in supply chain so still early on, and I’m trying to figure out what I really want to do - role/area, company, etc. I know I want to do really meaningful work and make a big impact. What advice would you give me?”

My reply: 

1. Take your last 6 yrs and write down the work that’s given you the most life and energy. Keep this document updated. 

2. Think on the areas of your work where you are asked for advice or input most often (this could be an indicator). Track this. 

3. Start spending time w/ peers or leaders at companies you may want to work for in the future. Do it now when you don’t need for a job. So when you do explore. You can start w/ them. 

4. Look for companies that have a vision you can get excited about it. In the meantime, create a vision for your work today that you can get excited about. 

5. Ask yourself: how can I have the biggest impact today in my current job? Then go do that. 

Ultimately, treat your job today like the best and last job you’ll ever have. That goes a long way.

10 winning strategies your boss can’t ignore. 

A two-minute guide to getting promoted. 

Let’s begin. 

1.     Think. Pressure-test your ideas and assumptions before bringing them to the table. What's the upside? downside? etc.

2.    Execute and Own your role from top to bottom. 

3.    Don't grumble and complain. You can vent for 5 minutes. After that, start attacking the problem.

4.    Address issues w/ other people, directly w/ other people. Only bring it to your boss if you can't resolve it. Or it's a repeated pattern.

5.    Enthusiasm is contagious. Spread it. 

6.    Help your boss tackle their biggest challenge. Learn what you can take off of their plate. Then do it.

7.    Aggressive Learning. If you don't know how to do something, build a plan to learn it, or find someone who does.

8.    Focus on the 20% of your activities driving 80% of the results. Don't let small checklist wins get in the way of big revenue wins.

9.    Do what you say. When you say you’ll do it. 

10.   Tell your boss when you're overloaded. Then, process what you can automate, delegate, delete or delay. 

The more your boss has to think about your job.  

The less safe your job is.

→ If you’re a boss, what would you add?

→ If you're a team member, what # stands out?

Bonus Tip: Have bad news? Get it to your boss quickly. Tell them you have bad news, your plan to address it, and how they can help.

Do this for 6 months and you’re on the fast path to more pay and a promotion. 

At least, if that’s what you want.

The part of trading that makes you money is the part that makes you want to quit.

I post a lot of the exciting stuff.

The screenshots from clients who message me saying "I just made $4,000 in 10 minutes." 

It's fun to post and fun to read and gets a lot of likes, but what you don't see from these students is days 47, 119, and 335 where they didn't have anything to send me. 

The huge results are maybe 5% of what happens

The other 95% is sitting there doing nothing. 

If you're doing it right, you're spending a ton of time just waiting and watching a setup that isn't quite right and not taking it. 

Then, you close your laptop at 10am because there's nothing to do. 

You might break even for a week straight and remind yourself that's actually a win.

That's the work.

And it feels like absolutely nothing is happening. Your brain is screaming at you to do something, but the traders who make it are the ones who can sit in that boredom and not get all antsy and force a trade. 

That's half the skill... Just the ability to be bored and not do something stupid.

I spent 35 years in Corporate America thinking hard work meant being busy. 

Trading taught me the opposite.
