We have a weekly session where we learn about how communication in the right manner can bring about the changes we are expecting out of us. Yesterday during the activity session I picked up the topic #change

Though there were very amazing topics, yet this one resonated with me the most. 

WHY

Because in the last few months after joining April Strong, 💪 ACC (ICF) for her sessions, the only thing constant in my life is CHANGE.

Some of the beautiful sentences which have brought the change.

1. If you are not programming your brain, it's still getting programmed.
2. Taking a pause - is my strength.
3. My state will lead my situation.
4. Who do I want to be today? 
5. Every challenge is an opportunity to prove my strength.
6. Productivity means doing what matters the most.
7. We don't get energy from others, we carry our own.

And many more along the journey.

This is a #gratitude post and I wish a lot of people can get benefitted by taking that leap of faith as I took.

I didn’t choose how I was born.

Back then, when my future looked like a pitch-black tunnel, a friend said, “Take one day at a time.”

It took me time to understand that. But when I understood that statement. 
I clung to it.
And today, I want to be that friend for you.

When you’re in pain, life feels like an ugly, endless road.
But that’s only because you can’t see clearly yet.

Every dawn is a doorway.
And every day is a chance to begin again.

Your heart beats faster.
Your palms sweat.
Your mind goes blank for a second.
We instantly label it as nervousness or anxiety.

But physiologically, it’s the same feeling as excitement.
A fascinating Harvard study tested this.

Participants had to do nerve-wracking tasks like public speaking and mental math under pressure.

But one group was told to say out loud - “I’m excited!” before starting.

Guess what happened?

They felt more confident. They performed better.

Because they reframed their stress as enthusiasm.

🧠 The mind believes what you tell it.
 Change your words, and you change your experience.

So the next time you feel those butterflies.

𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻... 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝘁.

This clip felt very real to me.

The first woman didn’t get priority because she had influence.
She mattered because she cared.
She showed up every year.

She supported the bakery even in lockdown when no one was stepping out.

She ordered pies she didn’t even pick up… just so the shop would feel seen, supported, remembered.
And that’s what the owner remembered.

Not the order.
Not the money.
But the feeling.

It reminded me how human we all are underneath everything we do.
Sometimes people become important to us simply because they’ve shown us a little warmth, a little consistency, a little kindness over time.

We think relationships are built through big moments.
But when I look closely, maybe they’re really built on small gestures and care.

𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻’𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗱.

We often call it a “communication gap.”

But most communication issues aren’t about words; they're about what we never say.

Every feeling you avoid, every thought you push down, it doesn’t vanish.

It waits.

And one day, it speaks for you as anger, irritation, or withdrawal.

The next time you catch yourself snapping at something small,
pause and ask :
“What am I holding back?”

3 minutes of honesty a day can prevent 3 weeks of regret later.

“𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗜 𝗺𝗲𝘁 𝗮 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗿-𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗢𝗹𝘆𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗮𝗻...”

A few days ago, I got a message that made me sit up straight.

It was from Ruben Gonzalez ❄️

Four-time Olympian.
Best-selling author.
Leadership keynote speaker for over 100 Fortune 500 companies.
A man whose TED talk has crossed a million views.

And his message simply said, “𝘓𝘦𝘵’𝘴 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘰𝘯 𝘢 𝘡𝘰𝘰𝘮 𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘭.”

For a moment, I felt like a kid who just got picked for the school relay team.

I had first heard of Ruben through Srikanthan Kumarasamy. I remember listening to him then. He remembered his childlike excitement that filled the whole room. 

So imagine my joy when we finally spoke one-on-one.

What struck me this time was not the medals, not the accolades, not even the decades of Olympic appearances.

It was how he began.

Ruben didn’t grow up training on ice.
He didn’t start luge at four like other Olympians.
He didn’t come from a winter-sport culture.

He started at 21.

Twenty-one is the age most athletes peak.
For luge, it’s pretty late.

But Ruben had one strength that defined his entire life:

He never quits.

When he saw a list of Olympic sports, he didn’t pick the popular ones. He didn’t pick the ones he understood.

He picked the most dangerous one.

His logic made me smile.

“If a sport is extremely tough, most people will quit.
If most people quit and I don’t, I’ll eventually make it.”

That was his entire strategy.

He shared how he made one call and said 
“I want to learn luge. I want to be in the Olympics in four years. Will you help me?”

No fancy story. No glamorous facilities. No special privileges.
Just grit, clarity, and a willingness to choose the hard road because it matched his strengths.

That’s the part that stayed with me long after the call.

Ruben didn’t succeed despite starting late.
He succeeded because he understood himself.

He knew perseverance was his superpower.
So he chose a sport where perseverance could beat talent and time.

And he never looked back.

Talking to him reminded me of something I often tell my clients:
Success gets easier when you stop fighting who you are.

𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲, 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀.

On Sunday, I was sitting there, frustrated…
feeling that voice inside me saying, “I’m doing everything possible… 

Then why are my results nowhere close to where they should be?”

Two lines hit me hard:

“I did it my way.”
Isn’t it true?

We get so focused on outcomes that we forget the quiet courage of simply staying in the game.

Showing up when no one claps.
Carrying weight no one else can see.
Taking the hit and still choosing our own path.
Sometimes the work feels heavy.
Sometimes the progress feels invisible.
Sometimes it feels like your bones are cracking under the load.

But this reminded me of one thing:
Effort shapes us in ways results never can.
