To get there, we’ll get under the skin of your brand and build a campaign which fits both key messaging and the key factors broadcasters will need.

Put simply this means the person you deal with will be the person who also deals with media. All too often in this sector, things are lost in translation as they are handed over.

The consultancy is led by Josh Wheeler who has 10 years of experience in broadcast PR (with a further five in traditional PR). His award-winning work spans some of the leading broadcast consultancies in the UK – he is now aiming to reshape the way we look at broadcast PR.

I was hired by LRQA to develop a global marketing communications strategy specifically for the commercial training part of the business.  Working with teams across EMEA, AsiaPac and the Americas, I conducted a thorough review of the current marcomms activity set within a context of the future direction of the business, changes in the wider business environment, and vis-a-vis a number of key competitors.

Through this process, I developed an over-arching global marcomms strategy that I then filtered down to local teams ready for adaptation and implementation.

This role required an appreciation of dealing with a number of vastly different teams, all at varying stages of their development, and with distinct marketing needs.... whilst bringing them together under a cohesive global strategy.

This was a part-time freelance consultancy role.

I started at Trimedia in January 2000 when the company in the UK was known as MacLaurin.  At that stage I was an Account Executive and over the years, and with different names above the door, I progressed through the organisation to become an Associate Director on the Corporate team.

In this role, I had overall responsibility for a portfolio of clients ranging from educational ICT, through to commercial foreign exchange, management consultancy and facilities services.  Aside from client work, I took the lead on business development for my team as well as managing the support framework for the team which involved capacity planning; training requirements and timekeeping.

I started at MacLaurin in January 2000 having spent a year in regional PR.  In 2003, MacLaurin became Trimedia.

For over 20 years I have worked with clients across a broad range of sectors to create compelling messages that raise their profile, maintain and protect their reputation and which, ultimately, connect them with the right audiences, at the right time whilst utilising the most appropriate tone of voice.  

My broad range of sector experience covers property/construction; manufacturing; business services; automotive; education; technology; financial and professional services and economic development.....to name just a few!!

My support to clients covers the following key areas: media and communications strategy development and execution; development of thought leadership platforms; corporate reputation management and profiling; copy writing; team leadership, management and development; internal communications; press office management; social media management; content development; and crisis/issues management.  I also design and deliver straight forward, results-focused, media training courses and can offer training support across other key areas of PR/corporate comms...

After an early grounding in a regional PR agency, I built my career at what eventually became Grayling (there were plenty of other names above the door during my time there) where I culminated my tenure leading the business, energy and industry portfolio of clients.  In this role, I directed numerous multi-market accounts, held P&L responsibility, and managed multiple teams of up to 12 comms professionals.

Nowadays, any one working day can draw on aspects of my entire career – I relish delivering strategic advice to clients but am equally at home rolling my sleeves up and getting my hands dirty with some good old fashioned media relations – and everything in between! 

Whilst I mostly work directly with clients, I am also open to working with PR and marcomms agencies in need of an extra pair of hands or a particular specialism.
