Can I easily put my phone on Do Not Disturb?

Yes.

Can I easily take my phone off Do Not Disturb and check social media? 

Also, yes.

So I called in back up with the Brick.

If you’ve never heard of it, it basically locks you out of the apps you choose to reduce distractions.

The only way to access them is if you physically touch your phone to the Brick to unlock it.

It’s added resistance to break my habit of reaching for and checking my phone in the morning, when I’m working, and in the evening with the kids.

Does anyone else use this?

To help me do that for myself and clients, I came up with the Eavesdrop Test. 

It's one question to ask before you hit "Publish."

"Would this sound interesting if I overheard it in a coffee shop?"

If your post is full of jargon and industry speak, you'd probably tune out if you heard it. 

But, if your post has personality and keeps people engaged from start to finish, you'd probably lean in. 

That's what we want. 

We want people to lean in.

Growing your LinkedIn network doesn’t have to be complicated.

I'm dizzy from all the circling back this week.

If you have blogs, newsletters, webinar decks, etc., you have content for LinkedIn posts. 

I use them as pillar content to create fresh content for my clients all the time. 

A few weeks ago, I turned a client's newsletter into a LinkedIn post that got 24 reactions, 2K impressions, 14 comments, and one repost. 

It took me less than 30 minutes to write. 

Here's what I did:

1. Pull from your intro: What's the main message? That's your hook.

2. Pull from the body: Find the one takeaway people actually need. That's your middle.

3. Pull from your close: Now you need to decide if you're teasing them to read the full piece (link in comments) or delivering the whole insight right here (soft CTA at the end).

When you take this approach, you're not rewriting content, you're just reshaping the work you already did.
