JJ Vega  described our work in a way I haven't stopped thinking about.

He said we work at the intersection of the inner world of the leader — and how that inner condition shapes everything around them.

Not skills. Not behaviors. Not competencies.

The inner condition.

I've been coaching leaders for a long time and I know this to be true: you can change the structure, the strategy, the team configuration. 

But if the inner condition of the person at the center doesn't shift, the system finds its way back to the same place within months.

I call them 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦. JJ and I spent a good while on this.

The question I find myself asking with every leader I work with isn't what do you need to do differently. It's 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭'𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭'𝐬 𝐫𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧?
