Most home care owners try to scale the business the wrong way.

They think the path is:

More caregivers.

Assisted in-house counsel by performing due diligence on potential borrowers to evaluate the risk for future commercial real estate loans. Drafted and tailored numerous operating agreements for both lender and borrower special purpose entities for senior and mezzanine loans, including loans with future funding, and obtain leverage financing. Analyzed lease agreements between landlords and tenants and provided legal analysis to various questions such as property tax implications and default status. Extracted relevant business terms from loan documents in a clear and concise manner to allow effective communication across both the legal and loan origination team.

Legal Intern

Assessed and performed IT general control testing to mitigate risk to the financial statement, evaluated whether controls were in compliance with SOX guidelines. Coordinated and performed SOC 1 and SOC 2 audits with multiple teams to ensure timely completion. Obtained and reviewed management policy documentation and procedures for compliance. Participated and led walkthroughs to assemble the control narrative and determine the scope of the SOX audit.

Maintained care for 10 special needs residents, coordinating with 5 co-workers. Documented the progress and achievements, as well as behaviors for each resident on a daily basis.

Direct Service Provider

Camp HASC

Worked as a counselor at a special needs summer camp, responsible for all essential daily needs for 4 special needs adults (6 days a week, 24 hours a day). Facilitated effective management of workload and schedules. Implemented behavior plans, aided campers in daily activities, and administered medication under the direction of registered nurses and physiotherapists to help improve the well-being of the campers.

This week we watched OpenAI hit code red on ChatGPT, Google roll out Gemini 3 Deep Think, and Anthropic ship Claude Opus 4.5.

On paper it is a great week for models.

For humans, it is a confronting one.

Sunday night is when the headlines fade and the quiet questions show up.

Are we actually changing how we work, or just scrolling the news about people who are?

Most teams I talk to say, “We are still experimenting with AI.”

Pilots, POCs, sandbox accounts everywhere.

But very few can point to one workflow that is radically different from 90 days ago.

That is the gap that keeps growing.

The models keep getting faster, cheaper, and more capable.

The humans keep promising to get serious about this next quarter.

So here is the reflection I am sitting with tonight.

If your workflows stayed exactly the same for the next 12 months, would your business be more competitive, or less?

Be honest with yourself first.

The strategy comes after that.

Stop trying to automate every part of your life.

Just because AI can do something, it does not mean you need to hand it off.

Some work is worth doing manually.

Some work teaches you how to think.

Some work sharpens your instincts so that when you finally automate it, you understand the process better than anyone else in the room.

AI is incredible leverage, but skipping the creative process completely comes with a cost.

You lose the reps.

You lose the insight.

You lose the intuition that only comes from the doing.

My biggest productivity unlock this year was not another AI model, it was how I talk to my computer.

Wispr Flow quietly became the center of my workflow.

I crossed 102,968 words spoken inside the app, which is basically one book written by voice.

I use it for everything I used to dread typing.

Client emails.

LinkedIn posts.

Session notes.

Offers and proposals.

Instead of “I will get to that later”, I hit record, talk it out, and move on.

The magic is not just speed, it is how much easier it is to think when I am talking instead of wrestling with the keyboard.

This is not a paid ad, it is just the tool I reflexively open 30 to 50 times a day.

Hitting the hundred thousand word mark made me wonder if Wispr Flow gives out trophies or medals for this.

Either way, it has been one of the biggest unlocks in my ability to ship more work with less friction.

If you have never tried voice first workflows, this is the one place I would start.

This is the perfect example of how to treat AI the right way.

Zane did not ask AI to “do the deal for him.”
He used it to speed up the grunt work so he could spend more time on judgment, risk, and structure.

I love working with operators like Zane who know their craft and use AI as leverage, not a shortcut.

I underwrote a $3,510,750 McDonald's in Miami, Florida

I used AI to analyze the entire deal. 

Here's how the process works:

1. Find your favorite AI platform (I prefer Claude).
2. Get the OM from a property you like. 
3. Upload the OM to the AI platform. 
4. Create a prompt to dive deeper. 
5. Ask questions like:

- What are the tenant/landlord responsibilities?
- What are the rental increases in the lease?
- Who is a suitable replacement tenant?
- What are the demographics of area?
- What is the market rent per/SF?
- What are the traffic counts?

(The more thorough your prompt is, the better the results are)

These details will help you understand the deal.

The better you understand a deal, the safer your money is. 

AI is an amazing tool.
