The rep on this week's podcast was about to get fired.

He'd missed quota 4 out of 5 months. The PIP was coming.

Then he went to a Tony Robbins seminar and came back a completely different seller. 

The next month he broke the company record for deals closed & become the all-time #1 rep at the time. 

What changed? 

It wasn't a new script or a new closing technique.

He realized he'd been selling for the wrong reasons.

When he was losing, his entire focus was on himself. 

Hit quota. 
Don't get fired. 
Prove I'm good enough. 
Make money.

Tony Robbins taught him something that reframed everything: if you want to influence someone, and all you're focused on is yourself, you'll never connect with them.

So he stopped walking into calls thinking "I need this deal."

He started asking "How do I actually serve this person? How does their life get better if they buy this?"

His coworkers noticed the shift immediately. 
His prospects felt it. 
His pipeline multiplied.

The irony is most reps try to fix their numbers by grinding harder with more calls, more emails, more activity.

But sometimes the fix isn't tactical. 

It's internal.
