I worked as a research assistant for Rijkswaterstaat, the Dutch executive agency for public works and water management. My main task was to conduct a research project on how to scale the use of second hand furniture in the Netherlands to bolster sustainability in the industry.

The research project involved:

- Reviewing the literature on the environmental and social benefits of second hand furniture, as well as the barriers and drivers for its adoption by consumers and businesses.

- Conducting interviews and surveys with various stakeholders, such as furniture manufacturers, retailers, resellers, refurbishers, NGOs, and customers.

- Analyzing the data and identifying the best practices, opportunities, and challenges for scaling the use of second hand furniture in the Netherlands.

- Developing recommendations and strategies for Rijkswaterstaat and other relevant actors to promote and facilitate the circular economy of furniture.

The research project was a valuable learning experience for me, as I gained insights into the complex and dynamic system of furniture production and consumption, and the potential for circular solutions to reduce waste and emissions, while creating social and economic value. I also improved my skills in research design, data collection and analysis, report writing, and stakeholder engagement.

I enjoyed working with a diverse and motivated team of researchers, consultants, and experts from Rijkswaterstaat and other organizations. I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this important and innovative project.

The day I actually took my LinkedIn journey seriously in 2024.

The day I became consistent
and promised LinkedIn that I’d finally give it a real chance.

No matter what happens… let’s go all in.

Little did I know, I was about to give myself the best gift of my life.

The vision I had been searching for from 2020 to 2023… THIS was it.

Those years were super messy.
I tried many things, but nothing aligned.

Full of hopelessness. Self-doubt.
That constant feeling of failure.

And then… a small ray of light sneaked in.
I saw a notification about a workshop in my college. Didn’t overthink. I just joined.

I went there with one big motive… to FIND my vision. 

And I returned with wings. 
Yep. That’s where I discovered LinkedIn.

That vision… combined with hunger to learn, 
dedication, and discipline… TRANSFORMED my life completely.

Financially. Personally. Professionally.

So for anyone wondering if LinkedIn is worth your time…

This New Year, I started with waking up early.
It’s 9:20 a.m. Yep… still early for me 🫣

2025 was really good to me.
So I want 2026 to be an even stronger one.

And it starts with one big thing…

All the mistakes I made last year…
I’m not repeating them this year.

Yep, I’m improving those small habits
that quietly tried to create barriers in my growth.

I know… if we really want to change,
we can change anything, anytime.
Discipline is all it takes.

But just thinking about change even today,
and then living the day the same way?
That’s WORSE.

Every new year gives you a choice.

A choice to hold yourself accountable.

A choice to repeat what’s familiar.
Or finally upgrade what’s been holding you back.

I decided early.

I started preparing in December.
And now I’m doubling down in January.

Because this year doesn’t need promises.
It needs action.

How about you?

Your reputation is forming with or without your consent.

- In the pause before someone replies.
- In the assumptions made before the call is booked.
- In how people describe you when you’re not in the room.

That’s why personal branding needs intention.

So you take control of how you show up.
What you represent.

I’ve always believed in keeping it private until it’s permanent.

And still… I’m building in public.

It didn’t come naturally to me.
In fact, I resisted it for a long time.

But the market doesn’t wait for comfort.

I realised something uncomfortable:
you can’t grow a business quietly anymore.

Without positioning, you blend in.
Without visibility, you stay invisible.
And your best work goes unnoticed.

So I learned the line.

My private life stays private.
What I eat, who I argue with, my dog walks… none of that matters.

But my journey does.

The failures.
The lessons.
How I’m building.
How I’m evolving.

That’s what creates connection.
That’s what builds trust.
That’s what brings clients.

The irony? I’m a personal brand strategist… and this was still the hardest shift for me.

But change is constant.
Adaptation is survival.
And today, visibility is the real currency.

There’s an uncomfortable truth most coaches avoid:

Posting ideas DON’T fix weak brands.
Strategy DOES.

Ideas feel easy to chase.
Strategy forces decisions.

That’s why so many personal brands stay busy but never build real leverage.

Here’s what actually drives results 👇

1/ Content is the output.
→ It’s what people see.

2/ Positioning is the input.
→ It decides what you say, who it’s for, and why it matters.

3/ Distribution is the multiplier.
→ It determines whether the right people ever see it.

When positioning is weak,
better ideas won’t help.
More posts won’t help.

They only make the confusion louder.
