After 22 years of corporate life and reaching the pinnacle, I stepped off the high-wire to begin a new chapter.

Trading the executive suite of a $4B global powerhouse for the excitement of entrepreneurship, I'm now spreading knowledge, innovation, and transformation.

Through 5 major career transitions, I evolved from a VP of Marketing & Sales to Division President, and ultimately, CIO.

Today's my 50th birthday.
If I could go back, here's the advice
I'd give my 20-year-old self:

Don't be afraid to start over.
You might just like your new story better.

In 2012, I lost 140 lbs in just over a year.

In 2023, I left a 23-year corporate career
to start my own company.

No idea how to do it.
No personal brand to build from.
I'd never even posted on social media.

I went from 1,766 LinkedIn followers in June 2023
to 687,015 today (hi fam 👋).

I thought I was keeping the peace by staying silent.

I learned this the hard way with my project manager.

His work quality was slipping. The team noticed.
I said nothing for months.

When I finally had the conversation:

That's when it hit me hard. My silence wasn't kindness.

It was abandonment disguised as peace-keeping.

I convinced myself I worked best under pressure.

The truth? 

I was avoiding the hard stuff until panic forced my hand.

The issue was not discipline. It was a lack of structure.

7 methods that changed the game for me:

1) 3-3-3 Method
↳ 3 hours of deep work, 3 quick wins, 3 admin tasks.
↳ Easy to repeat, hard to overcomplicate.

2) Timeblocking
↳ Schedule your highest value work first.
↳ Protect that time as if it were already booked.

3) Distraction Minimization
↳ Phone out of reach.
↳ Alerts off. Browser cleaned up.

4) Crystal-clear goals
↳ Be explicit about what "done" means.
↳ Precise outcomes lower resistance.

5) Sprint and rest
↳ 45 minutes fully engaged, then reset.
↳ Single tasking compounds over time.

6) Eliminate, automate, delegate
↳ Cut the unnecessary, systemize the repeatable.
↳ Delegate the rest.

7) Close the day intentionally
↳ Recognize what worked today.
↳ Decide what to improve tomorrow.

Most leaders think they are doing a good job.

Few would pass the “Harvard” CEO test:

7 questions to separate good leaders from great ones:

1) Can you develop a simple plan for your strategy?
↳ Do you focus on outcomes, not just priorities?
↳ Have you edited ruthlessly what you will NOT do?

2) Can you make culture real and matter?
↳ Do you model the behavior you expect?
↳ Do you remove performers who poison the culture?

3) Can you build teams that are true teams?
↳ Is there psychological safety?
↳ Are the right people in the right seats?

4) Can you lead transformation?
↳ Do you adapt when the old way no longer works?
↳ Are you transparent and relentless in communication?

5) Can you really listen?
↳ Do you seek to understand before being understood?
