After 22 years of corporate life and reaching the pinnacle, I stepped off the high-wire to begin a new chapter.

Trading the executive suite of a $4B global powerhouse for the excitement of entrepreneurship, I'm now spreading knowledge, innovation, and transformation.

Through 5 major career transitions, I evolved from a VP of Marketing & Sales to Division President, and ultimately, CIO.

Today's my 50th birthday.
If I could go back, here's the advice
I'd give my 20-year-old self:

Don't be afraid to start over.
You might just like your new story better.

In 2012, I lost 140 lbs in just over a year.
It completely changed my life.

I went from being "demoted" at work

In 2023, I left a 23-year corporate career
to start my own company.

No idea how to do it.
No personal brand to build from.
I'd never even posted on social media.

I went from 1,766 LinkedIn followers in June 2023
to 687,015 today (hi fam 👋).

Stress lives in your body, not your mind

Here's what most people get wrong:

They think stress is all mental.

Something you can "think" your way out of. 

But stress is a physiological response. 

When you experience stress, your body floods with cortisol + adrenaline. 

Your heart races. 
Your muscles tense. 
Your nervous system shifts into survival mode.

This is the stress cycle
… and it's meant to be completed.

In nature, animals shake, run, or release the tension after a threat passes. 

But we? 

We sit in meetings. 
We suppress. 
We carry it forward.

That's why you can meditate, journal, and "think positive" all you want…

But if the stress is still stored in your body,
it's not going anywhere.

The solution? 

Move it out.

Discharge it through your body. 

Dance.

I get it.
You’re busy.
You’ve tried cardio.
You’ve sweated through classes.

And still… the mirror feels like a debate you never asked for.

Well… cardio alone rarely changes your waist the way you want.

Because the goal is not just to “burn calories.”

It’s to change your body’s baseline.

The thing is:

Long cardio sessions can spike appetite, increase stress, and teach your body to get efficient (meaning you burn fewer calories doing the same work over time). You end up tired, hungry, and stuck in the same loop.

But… heavy resistance training is different.

It tells your body: 

“Keep muscle. Use fat.”

✅ It improves insulin sensitivity
✅ Tightens your posture
✅ And raises the amount of energy you burn AFTER the workout

And you don’t need a gym.

→ At home. 
→ 3x per week. 
→ 35–45 minutes.

Focus on big moves:

• Squat or split squat
• Hip hinge (deadlift pattern)
• Push (push-ups)
• Pull (rows)
• Carry or core (farmer hold, dead bug)

Pair that with:

☑︎ Enough protein at each meal
☑︎ A small calorie deficit you can actually live with
☑︎ Daily stress release (walks, breathwork, somatic movement, early bedtime)

Then give it 6–8 weeks.
Not for perfection.

E. wanted to drop 12kg (24lbs) and have more muscle

But he couldn't do a single floor push-up

The biggest mistake?

Jumping into advanced exercises before building foundational strength.

Most people think they need to do traditional push-ups right away. 

They push too hard, get frustrated, and quit.

Here's what we did differently:

We started with progressive overload:

→ Week 1-3: Wall push-ups
→ Week 4-6: Table push-ups
→ Week 7-9: Bench push-ups
→ Week 10+: Floor push-ups

We met him where he was and built from there.

The result after 3 months:

✅ 6kg (12lbs) down
✅ Significantly stronger
✅ Doing proper floor push-ups with confidence
