As Chairman of Smarter Capital, my role is to drive results and find solutions that enhance the Groups performance. I am responsible for overseeing the acquisition of digital marketing agencies for the Group, as well as supporting acquisitions in the e-commerce and Support Services verticals. 

Since June 2022, we have successfully integrated eight companies into the Group, expanding our reach and capabilities locally, nationally, and now globally.

My primary focus is on growing the Digital Agency vertical and supporting the growth of our e-commerce vertical, each with a target of achieving £3 million in EBIT. This growth objective demonstrates our dedication to maximising the profitability and success of these sectors within the Group.

In addition to my responsibilities within the Group, I also prioritise assisting founders in maximising their shareholder value. This indicates our commitment to fostering strong relationships with the entrepreneurs behind the acquired companies, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their goals.

Furthermore, I am leading the development of our "Smarter Fund," which aims to generate above-average returns for everyday capital. This fund offers a secured solution that provides attractive financial opportunities while mitigating risk.

Employed to turn around a loss-making area of 6 stores with total responsibility for their sales and profit delivery. Area returned to profit in 1 year. Concurrently opened 2 brand new stores on the area, meeting ROI targets.
Responsible for the recruitment, management and motivation of the management teams to deliver their targets.
Moved to London as a Senior Area Manager with responsibility for 12 stores of my own. Also for a further 12 stores with 2 trainee Area Managers to oversee them.
Top performing Area Manager in terms of sales growth in PHUK in financial year 04/05. Received the Chief Executive's award in 06.

I've spent the last 14 years running my own businesses. 

I founded my first, Rays Ice Cream in 2011. I spent the next 11 years growing it from one shop where we made all of our own ice cream in the back, to a business with 3 shops and a purpose-built kitchen. We continued to make our own premium ice cream and supplied it to our own shops, by home delivery in and around Swindon and wholesale around Wiltshire and beyond. I sold Rays Ice Cream in July 2022.

In 2012 my husband and I took on the lease to a run down café next door to our ice cream shop. We fully refurbished it, recruited a new team, devised a new menu and ran it for 2 years before selling it on. We founded a spray coatings business in 2015 and built that up before selling it on 2 years later. In 2016 I started my own business mentoring business, My Business Buddy, specialising in offering support to business owners in the hospitality and artisan food industries. I ran My Business Buddy for 7 years.

I love working with small business owners to help them to get the most out of their businesses.
