Well, the thing is, Bryan isn't necessarily the most credentialed person in longevity or in healthcare.

- I do everything last minute
- I overthink every sentence before I write it

Then I got on a call with a healthcare founder.

She told me about her patients.

How she figures out what they need before they even have to ask. How some of them don't want to leave. How people who've never opened up to anyone walk into her clinic and tell her things they've never said out loud.

But no one knows these stories, I thought to myself. It's not on her LinkedIn. It's not in her bio. It doesn't exist anywhere on the internet.

But it should.

Because somewhere out there is a patient who needs to hear it before they decide whether to book that appointment.

That's when the doubt stopped creeping in.

I kept waiting for a metric to prove I was doing something worthwhile. A follower count. A viral post. A case study with big numbers.

Although I do have those, I still felt like an imposter.

But talking to people building in health (&wellness) has led me to believe otherwise.

This overthinker writing from his bed, doing everything at the last minute, is out here making sure the stories that deserve to be told actually get told.

On that note, I'd like to say something out loud for myself:

You don't need tangible results to know your work is real.

You need to stay close enough to the work to feel it.

The most important stories are just waiting for someone brave enough to ask.

I did 50+ profile audits in the last 2 months, across hospitals, healthcare startups, clinics, care platforms, and almost all of them were missing one thing: narrative-led content.

And before that sounds like consultant jargon, here’s what I mean.

Most founders are posting about AI, value-based care, patient engagement, system inefficiencies. All relevant. All smart.

But after reading 10–15 posts, I still can’t answer a simple question.

"What do you actually believe about healthcare?"

Not what’s in the news. Not what that health influencer is talking about.

Your stance.

If you’re building a care coordination platform, do you believe the real issue is broken incentives? Lack of ownership? Fragmentation? Say that.

Because “healthcare is broken” is more of a placeholder than a narrative.

That said, narrative-led content is the discipline of returning to the same belief from different angles until the market associates it with you.

It’s when people can describe you in one sentence, what you stand for, what you’re fighting, why you exist.

This clarity matters more than reach in healthcare because the industry runs on trust.

If your worldview isn’t clear, your positioning won’t be either.

I feel that most ghostwriter/agency portfolios are inflated. Hence, I have a few questions to ask.

Quick context:

I keep seeing public portfolios with brand names, founder profiles, links, revenue numbers, LTV stats, “$3M generated,” “$10M pipeline driven.”

And I’m genuinely confused. Because as a ghostwriter, I’ve signed NDAs. I cannot publicly reveal the names I’ve worked with.

My profile doesn’t show big logos. It doesn’t name-drop founders. I only share that work privately with select prospects.

So I need to ask:

1/ How are you publicly listing client names if you’re a ghostwriter?
Are clients giving permission?
Are you skipping NDAs?
Are you structuring contracts differently?

2/ What actually goes into your portfolio?
Only viral posts?
Only high-performing content?
Or do you also show work that didn’t “blow up”?

3/ How are you confidently claiming revenue numbers?
When you say, “I generated $X in LTV” or “I drove $Y million in revenue,”
how are you attributing that?

Because from where I stand, most of us are solving for:

Awareness/Positioning/Authority/Visibility/Trust

We’re not running the sales calls or closing outbound or optimizing the backend funnel (until you're actually offering those services).

So,

4/ Do we actually have the authority to claim revenue?
Or are we borrowing numbers from a larger system that includes offer, sales, timing, and team?

I’m not judging. I’m genuinely curious. Because I want to market myself better without overclaiming and underselling.

If you’re doing this well, I’d love to understand your thinking.

I’m very angry today.

Social media has quietly turned us into people that probably didn’t exist before.

There was a time when life was smaller. We grew food. We ate food. We stayed in communities. We felt things fully because we didn’t have the luxury of scrolling past them.

Today, we consume tragedy with our morning coffee.

We read something horrific, feel a spike of emotion, shut the app for an hour, and then we’re back to memes.

We joke about things that should disturb us.

We defend ourselves even when we’re wrong.

We refuse to own up.

And the algorithm moves on, so we move on.

I'm less afraid of misinformation and more terrified about desensitization.

We have access to more information than any generation in history but less emotional stamina to process it.

I don’t know what this does to a society long-term.

But sometimes I feel like this constant exposure, this endless scroll of crisis, might exhaust us before anything else does.

And that terrifies me.

I was digging through Google Search Console today and found a traffic source I hadn't paid much attention to.

Image search. 389 clicks. 236K impressions!!!

So I dug deeper.

Multiple blog images on a client's website aree ranking #1 on Google Image Search for a keyword our audience actively searches. They see the image, click it, and land on our blog.

Even though I didn't expect it, this didn't happen by accident.

Every time I add an image to a blog post, I follow the same basics that most people might skip (what difference would it make, right):

→ File name: Not IMG_3847.jpg. Something like 'content-marketing-strategy-2024.jpg'
→ Alt text: Written to describe the image in context, not stuffed with keywords
→ Image size: Compressed before uploading so it doesn't kill page speed
→ Relevance: The image actually connects to what the content is saying

None of this is advanced. But most blogs get it wrong or just don't bother.

And that's exactly where the opportunity gets missed, too.

Image search is an underleveraged traffic channel. Your competitors probably aren't optimizing for it.

What SEO basics are you being consistent with?

The weirdest thing I tell clients as a ghostwriter and social media manager:

“I’m not trying to make you go viral.”

Which sounds strange, because everyone on social media is chasing the same things:
likes, impressions, and that big shiny follower number.

But the people I work with, mostly in health and wellness, don’t need virality.

They need the right visibility.

If you’re a doctor, therapist, or health professional, a post reaching 100,000 people doesn’t automatically help you.

You don’t need 100,000 people.

You need the 10 who actually need you.

In industries like patient care, the goal is trust with the right audience.

One long-term client who believes in your work is worth more than a thousand random likes.

The “go viral” playbook works if you’re trying to be:
	•	a creator
	•	an influencer
	•	someone selling courses to a broad audience

But the moment the industry changes, the playbook flips.

Thought leadership isn’t built on virality.
It’s built on credibility, consistency, and attracting the right people.

So if someone promises you:

“We’ll make you go viral.”

The better question is to ask do you even want to?

Because if they didn’t first ask about your goals, your business model, or the kind of audience you actually need, they’re not building you a brand.

They’re trying to turn you into an influencer.

And those are two very different strategies.

If you were to quit social media (as a job) what would you do that brings you the same joy and income?

Hypothesis: We optimized for speed, but we forgot to optimize for being human.

In urban India, everything is becoming 10–15 minutes away. Groceries. Food. Cleaners. Even trucks. All on demand, at a tap.

"Don't spend time on this. We'll handle it."

And to be fair, it does help sometimes. But somewhere in the fine print, we accepted a trade we didn't fully think through.

Because did we actually need groceries in 10 minutes? House help in 30? A truck in 60?

Groceries were never just about groceries. Cooking wasn't just about food.

These were the small acts that structured a day. Running into someone. Stepping outside. Observing life as it happens.

But now, urban Indians are among the most physically inactive people in the world. Mental health disorders in Indian metros run nearly double the rate of rural areas.

We have more connectivity than ever and less contact than ever.

Quick-commerce didn't create this problem, but every errand we outsource is one fewer reason to leave the house, talk to someone, exist in public.

There's a version of convenience that frees you up for more life. And a version that quietly replaces it.

(The fact that someone profits every time we withdraw probably isn't a coincidence.)

The app doesn't know the difference between those two versions. That part is still on us.

The belief I held longest and let go of last after 3 years:

Quality beats quantity.

I said it to clients. I said it to myself. I built my entire approach around it.

And in the stage they were in (early, small, still finding their voice), I was completely wrong.

Not because quality doesn't matter. It does. Eventually.

But before you have enough posts to know what resonates, before the algorithm has enough signal on you, before your audience has seen enough of your content to have preferences, quality is a variable you can barely control.

Volume is how you generate the data.

Data is how you know what quality actually looks like for your specific audience.

I can't believe I'm saying this. I'm the person who would argue this point with anyone.

But I watched a client hit her first 50K+ impressions after we stopped obsessing over making every post perfect, and started obsessing over showing up consistently.

The evidence beat the belief.

woke up to tons of women's day posts all over my feed. while men were busy wishing everyone a happy women's day, women were talking about and posting the screenshots of how people were misbehaving all year round. says a lot.

I've spent 3 years making the same mistakes in my content business.

Here's exactly what I had to unlearn, and what I replaced each one with:

1/ Working with every industry → going all in on one

I worked in tech, D2C, SaaS, FinTech, EdTech, even a CA firm. I told myself it expanded my worldview.

It didn't. It fragmented my attention.

Every new client was a new world I had to get partially fluent in. I was always good enough but never sharp.

Now: health and wellness. One space. It will comound over time.

2/ Doing everything myself → hiring before I was ready

I kept every task to myself because I thought control equalled quality.

It equalled a ceiling.

The moment I hired an outreach person and an editor, I got my thinking time back.

Now: two people on the team. Both directly tied to output or pipeline.

3/ Content before outreach → outreach before anything

I thought content would bring clients to me organically. It didn't. Not fast enough.

Content builds trust with people already watching. Outreach builds the audience that will watch.

I was renovating a restaurant before I'd unlocked the door.

Now: outreach is non-negotiable. Content converts what outreach creates.

4/ Building systems for someday → building for right now

I invested in elaborate systems, workflows, decks before I had clients to fill them.

A beautiful machine with no one to run it for.

Now: I build for the client in front of me, not the agency I imagined becoming.

TL;DR: None of these felt like mistakes while I was making them. That's exactly why they cost me three years.

I often get asked about my rate per deliverable or rate per hour (wrt LinkedIn ghostwriting).

(I've dumbed down ghostwriting as a service and pricing respectively, keep reading.)

Before I answer this question, I'd like to explain why it's not an optimal way of pricing for anyone be it the client or the ghostwriter.

I'd divide this into two parts.

Ghostwriting and Pricing.

Part 1: Understanding what happens in the backend.

When you onboard a ghostwriter, they simply do not just start writing from day one.

They go through this following process in order to start creating the first set of drafts:

a. Discovery: This step involves a brief call, a questionnaire, and a few other basic steps to understand you (the client) better.

b. Research and Strategy: This step involves creating a content strategy based on market/competitor research and your goals.

c. Ideation and Content Calendar: This step involves generating ideas and creating a content calendar depending on the strategy.

d. Content Creation: This step (as obvious) involves creating content, not limited to just text, can include graphics, carousels, video etc.

e. Scheduling and distribution: This is the final step which includes scheduling the content based on the calendar and distributing it across platforms if required.

After knowing all the steps, you can now see (if you already didn't know) that a lot happens in the backend.

And the effort and time that goes into creating a final draft cannot be fairly compensated by simply paying a certain amount for a specific deliverable.

Part 2: Understanding why rate per deliverable doesn't work.

Even if the discovery part is a one-time effort, we keep revamping the strategy over time.

Algorithms change, trends change, everything changes and thus we can't stay constant and that's why strategy and content calendar keeps changing as well.

When it comes to writing, I've already talked about how writing just doesn't include simply writing.

Ideation, Research, Writing, Editing, Proofreading are some of the steps that happen in the backend wrt creating final drafts.

I simply cannot define everything in terms of a single deliverable and hence not so optimal way of pricing.

Things would be different if I was just supposed to 'write.'

I have talked enough about the processes that you most probably already knew, so now let me ask you:

For ghostwriters: Do you still think you should be charging per deliverable? 

For people who hire ghostwriters: Do you think it's fair to pay per deliverable?
