Sequel lets marketers host webinars and virtual experiences directly on their own domain, giving them full control of their brand and customer experience — and complete ownership of their data. That’s more than a technical detail. It’s a paradigm shift. Because when marketers own their event data — every question answered, poll response submitted, moment of engagement captured — they can orchestrate richer, more contextual journeys. That means stronger pipelines, shorter sales cycles, and better retention. In other words, better unit economics.

I’m known for building high-performing teams, fostering thriving communities (like Pavilion’s 10,000+ GTM leaders and IMPACT’s 5,000+ marketers), and launching content engines that turn brands into media powerhouses. March is known as “Women’s Month.”

In the U.S., it’s Women’s History Month.
March 8th is International Women’s Day.

And running Empressa AI, a company 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘸𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘯, 𝘣𝘺 𝘸𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘯… we knew we couldn’t just post an inspirational quote and call it a day!

We want to do something that actually amplifies women.

Because here’s what’s happening:

AI is being built right now.
Standards are being written right now.
Products are getting funded right now.

And we want women center stage — not backstage adjusting the mic (or worse...letting someone else take the credit).

So we created 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮 𝗔𝗜𝟮𝟱, in partnership with AmericanAI, and leaders Jay Nakagawa and Nan [Nanette] Bulger.

A list honoring 25 women who are shaping AI as we speak.

We’re looking for women who are:

• Building the systems
• Deploying them inside companies
• Governing and setting guardrails
• Funding what gets built
• Teaching the world what AI is

Let’s make sure when this chapter of history is written… women are not a footnote.

Most women I talk to don’t think deeply about who trained their AI tools.

But that’s exactly what we should be thinking about this March, during Women’s History Month...because AI is quickly becoming the new “invisible system” shaping our lives.

When we talk about AI governance, we’re really talking about who DECIDES how these systems are designed, deployed, and held accountable. 

If women aren’t in that conversation, we already know the answer.

We’ve seen what happens when systems are designed without us:

* Car safety tests used male crash test dummies for years, leaving women significantly more likely to be seriously injured.
​
* Clinical trials historically excluded women, so drugs were dosed for male bodies, not ours.
​
Now we’re rebuilding the world with AI:
In hiring
In healthcare
In business decisions
In performance reviews

And the pattern is repeating. 

Studies are finding AI systems that rank male resumes higher, or suggest lower salary ranges for women with the same qualifications. 

That’s governance by whoever was in the room when the model was trained and approved.

The good news is that we don't have to wait to be invited before we get involved.

If you lead a team, before you roll out a new AI tool, think about:

1. What decision is this system making or influencing?
2. Whose data is it trained on (and who may be missing)?
3. What happens if it’s wrong?
4. How will we know if it’s harming or excluding women over time?

Bring these into your staff meeting and your vendor evaluation. Make them part of how you talk about performance, risk, and impact.

The more awareness and involvement we all have on the issue, the more we can influence the direction this is going.
