Some people will do anything to get out of work. After a lot of thought and fulfilling a life long desire, I quit my long term job and decided to cycle the world. The plan would be to cycle across Australia, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Myanmar, Nepal, India before finding work for a while and planning the next leg of the journey.  

After Cycling all the way to Thailand I was involved in a serious road accident that ended the trip. I was forced to return to the UK after 8 months of cycling.  

Due to the accident and life getting in the way, my plans changed and I took a different direction.

I had an incredible time, saw lots of the world in every detail, met life long friends and learned new lessons.

I was employed as the IT Manager when the company was relatively small. During my time there the company expanded significantly. The IT system played a crucial role in this expansion. This included virtualizing and consolidating the servers at all geographical locations, expanding and securing the WAN and endpoints, migration to Office 365 and Sharepoint, developing Disaster Recovery and continuity plans, and implementing policies and procedures.


 During my time I  managed various projects, automating many manual processes using mobile technology and data aggregation ,designed and implemented reporting and analysis systems using MS SQL, SSIS and the Microsoft BI stack . Before leaving, I worked with 3rd Party companies to migrate on-premise systems to the Microsoft Azure Platform.


I was also responsible for the management of a small team in the department and establishing working relationships with technology partners.
