This role was providing HR management for the Greater China region that included offices in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Beijing, and HR leadership for the broader Asia region.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Direct management of the Greater China HR team with 8 direct reports, and leadership for the Asia regional HR team across Tokyo, Bangkok and Singapore.

Relationship management with Partners and Managers across Asia and in the London office ensuring a strong connection between the regional and global HR strategies.

Supported the development of the Asia HR strategy and took ownership for the delivery of the key projects and milestones across the region to ensure overall successful implementation of the strategy.

Sitel New Zealand – a leading outsource provider of customer care solutions globally, this role was supporting the Genesis Energy account in New Zealand. The Genesis Energy account was approximately 450 employees including a 170 seat contact centre and 90 seat back office processing centre.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Key account management for the Utilities management team including leadership and management of the site human resources team.

Relationship management with key stakeholders in head office, on site and the client ensuring a strong connection between the activities of HR and business needs.

Supporting the development of the people strategy and the human resources operating model nationally.

Driving the implementation of practical and commercially focused people solutions aligned to the outsourced business model.

Ministry of Social Development

Ministry of Social Development – Work and Income provide social benefits to New Zealanders. This role was supporting primarily the contact centres, which have 600 employees across five contact centres and a processing centre. Nationally there are 3,500 employees in Work and Income. This was a 6 month secondment to backfill a parental leave.

RESPONSIBILITIES

HR advice and support to managers across Work and Income.

Design and implementation of managers performance management system.

Research, design and recommendations for the contact centre people capability plan – included best practice research, recommendations for organizational design, recruitment and selection processes, learning and development frameworks and coaching frameworks.

Development of leadership profile linking leadership development library and recruitment and selection tools.

Senior Human Resources Advisor

The Ministry of Social Development (MSD)

Ministry of Social Development – Specialist Services is a support unit within MSD including contact centres, processing centres, fraud investigation and debt recovery. This role was one of two in the HR team for the unit supporting 150 manager and 1200 employees nationally.

RESPONSIBILITIES

HR advice and support to managers across Specialist Services around advertising, recruitment, induction and finishing employment.

Coaching and support for managers around performance appraisal systems and advice on learning and development programmes across Specialist Services.

Actively guiding and supporting managers through business change ensuring communication is maintained and a smooth transition for all staff affected.

Leading the development, implementation and coordination of HR projects and programmes within Specialist Services, supporting and providing advice to managers as part of the implementation process.

Research and analysis of HR information as part of the project development and reporting processes.

Support for the development of the people capability strategy for Specialist Services, leading individual projects from development to implementation, working closely with managers and staff to identify business needs and appropriate responses.

Fonterra Co-operative Group

Fonterra – a global dairy company, this role was supporting eight manufacturing sites across the South Island of New Zealand including 2,500 employees.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Worked with managers, staff and wider learning and development team to identify high level training needs, assessing learning and development needs at both an individual and overall manufacturing level.

Established skills and development programmes locally and nationally to ensure learning and development needs were met, building relationships with key local and national training providers to ensure delivery of effective training to meet the identified learning and development objectives.

Led key learning and development projects including developing a nation wide induction programme, developing and implementing a management and leadership development framework for the region and developing a nation wide energy efficiency programme for all staff.

Learning and Development Advisor

Fonterra – a global dairy company, this role was supporting the global office for New Zealand Milk, the FMCG business unit, including 90 local employees and a total of 10,500 employees across 140 countries.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Management of Global Office processes including recruitment and selection, relocation of international assignees and hires, visa applications, induction, exit procedures, on line leave management system and internal communications.

Project and administrative support to the Global HR team including supporting the new performance management system, employee development system, career path planning and competency assessment framework and leadership development programme.

Development of policies required and support for promulgation including the management of Health and Safety for the office.
