I help financial advisors, attorneys, and CPAs with their clients by planning for life’s hardest events and mitigating consequences with long-term care (LTC) aka extended care. 

I help employers provide their employees with a caregiving support platform and LTC insurance.

I help clients and their families with their LTC and disability insurance planning needs. I design unique policies for each individual/family.

I’m a guide. I don't tell my clients what they should do, rather I listen to their needs, goals, and concerns and give them recommendations. Ultimately, it's up to them to decide.


🌟WHY I DO WHAT I DO
I know the value and importance of planning for the unexpected. 

I saw and experienced the difficult realities of extended care/LTC situations in my family. All of my grandparents needed LTC, but none of them had a written plan or LTC insurance. This put a tremendous amount of financial, physical, and emotional burdens on my family. I was a part-time caregiver to my grandma for a couple of years. I wish my family planned in advance for LTC and had insurance.

My father-in-law was a dentist and due to an accident lost significant vision and could no longer practice dentistry in his 40s. His individual disability policy provided valuable income for over 20 years to my husband's family! Without that policy, I just don’t know what they would’ve done.

It’s an honor to be able to come alongside clients and provide compassion and expertise in LTC and DI.

For years I have had two passions: Marketing and Advanced Financial Planning with Life Insurance.

Unfortunately, those two services are often addressed in two completely different channels, meaning advisors focusing on one service or the other often do so at the detriment of the other need.

Which was exactly why I pulled together the team to launch Trained Advisor. 

Designed by some of the life insurance industry’s brightest minds, who know exactly what it takes to Acquire, Identify, Present and Close Advanced Life Insurance Cases, we use a combination of cutting edge marketing techniques such as funnels, landing pages, video, email, social media (with a special emphasis on LinkedIn) and more to help life insurance and financial professionals find, connect and engage with their dream customers in the advanced planning markets.

Tyson officially serves as the Chief Operating Officer of Camas and manages corporate operations as well as strategic planning. He is phenomenal at the case design aspect of life insurance strategies, and he and his team oversee carrier relations, illustrations, marketing, internal advisory development, sales training, and affinity partnerships.

As marketing and case design consultant for Camas Consulting, Tyson works with advisors and broker-dealer representatives at the various stages of cases, as well as assisting in the marketing efforts of advisors. Often these duties include running illustrations, researching and vetting products at multiple insurance companies, creating or obtaining various marketing materials, and coordinating cases between advisors, underwriting teams, contracting specialists, and the insurance companies themselves. Tyson excels at utilizing his relationships in the industry to pull in the right professionals on each case.

As an account manager, Tyson's primary job was to oversee business accounts that included insurance components such as life, health, accident and disability. Many of the accounts were national household names, and included companies such as RE/MAX, The Home Depot, PF Chang's, and Kaplan. As part of the duties of an Augeo account manager, Tyson was in charge of spearheading projects such as program implementation, ongoing marketing campaigns, and maintaining client relationships. What made working at Augeo such a unique experience was that it allowed Tyson to acquire many valuable marketing, sales, business development and project management skills.

But enough about the company, here's how I got to where I am today...

Starting at a young age, I developed a deep passion for the life insurance, financial and marketing industries, which is what led me to founding Trained Advisor, and structuring it to become the premier digital marketing resource for life insurance and financial professionals that you see today

But my path to Trained Advisor wasn’t the typical route you would expect for someone in the digital marketing space, and was full of twists and turns

I didn’t recognize it at the time, but those twists and turns are what allowed me to intimately understand exactly what YOU need as a life insurance or financial professional

Growing up my dad was a tax planning attorney, estate planning attorney, financial planner, and when I was in high school he was the Advanced Planning Consultant for the Western region of a major life insurance carrier.

I was extremely fortunate that he took me under his wing, and from a young age included me in his business.

What started out as janitorial work and filing papers eventually turned into creating marketing materials, presentations and more that he would use with both advisors and clients that he was working with.

Thanks to this in house expert that was beyond patient with me, I was able to ask the "dumb" questions as they came up, build a solid foundation, and eventually become fluent in planning concepts such as life insurance, business planning, estate / legacy planning, and much more.

When I finally got out of college, I was offered a regional case design role with Penn Mutual, and was able to continue learning from some of the industry’s brightest minds.

Taking what I learned there, I began working for a marketing company where I was put in charge of national direct response marketing campaigns for organizations such as RE/MAX, The Home Depot, PF Chang's, Kaplan, and more…

Which is where my true love of marketing developed.

After returning to the independent space working as a case designer, producer and marketer, I decided to make the jump to entrepreneurship and combined my passion of marketing, insurance/financial planning and working with advisors to form Trained Advisor, where I have been fortunate to have helped producers close millions of dollars in revenue.
