Teachers are hit, bitten, and attacked by students, then asked “Did you try and build a relationship with the student?”

They experience extreme levels of stress, anxiety, and insomnia.

They spend their own money and free time working on their classrooms/ lesson planning.

Most teachers are working 2-3 jobs to make ends meet.

They are belittled by other professions.

Inspire educators to show their students the world, serving as their partner to create travel programs at their schools.

Specifically, I work with middle and high school teachers to launch international travel programs. I do all the heavy lifting so they don't have to.

During the 20-21 school year, I was part of a select group of educators from the district to work as part of a district-wide online learning program to meet the needs of students and families desiring full-time virtual education. Instruction was delivered synchronously and asynchronously. I instructed 6th grade students in reading, writing, speaking, and listening by developing virtual synchronous and asynchronous lessons and activities. I integrated technology on a consistent basis and used technology tools to enhance language instruction. I served on our school’s leadership team as a 6th grade and ELA representative and served on the school’s Student Support Team (SST). I also developed and implemented a reading intervention program working with small groups of students to improve reading skills.

Starting in March, all instruction took place synchronously and asynchronously online via Schoology using Google Suite and other educational technology resources. I instructed 6th grade students in reading, writing, speaking, and listening by implementing an integrated approach to language instruction that involved: shared inquiry, literature circles, timed writing, peer editing and ratiocination, journal writing, writing walls, writing round tables, CERs, research processes, daily oral language activities, interdisciplinary literary units, individual and group projects, use of technology, self and peer evaluation, and portfolios. These instructional practices also involved significant lesson and curriculum modification in order to meet the needs of the diverse student population.
