Helping clients book pipeline, automatically through Unify. At prior companies, I used contact data providers, intent providers, SEP tools, dialers, and ChatGPT to do cold outreach over both the email and phone - I was able to become a top performer and never miss my quota as an SDR because of the efficiency of these tools. 

It was easy to find my buyer and contact them in just a couple of clicks.

Now, I want to focus on helping other people do the exact same thing.

By helping sellers reach their buyer, I've been able to learn the pain points that SDR and AE teams face on a weekly basis. Usually, they tell me that their TOFU numbers are hurting because they can't connect with enough buyers per week that would warrant them hitting their numbers. VPs of sales and CROs are frustrated by this because TOFU problems are bottom line problems.

What 2025 taught me about building a GTM team from scratch

18 months ago, I stepped into a Founding AE role at Unify with $0 closed, no direct reports and a dream to move into leadership.

Today, I lead a team of 8 crushing quota every month.

Here's what I learned:

1. Hire for attitude, train for skill

The best performer on our team came from a completely different industry but had incredible curiosity, work ethic, and commitment to the craft.

2. Systems without soul fail

We built amazing automations (CRM notes, call prep, etc.) but almost forgot to keep it human. The best results came when we combined smart tech with genuine personality and care.

3. Vulnerability builds trust

Admitting when I didn't know something makes me more real. I have opinions and thoughts- and they are wrong frequently.

4. Culture eats strategy for breakfast

Our biggest wins came from creating an environment where people wanted to be challenged. 

5. Speed to start more than perfection

We iterated fast, failed fast, and improved fast. Paralysis by analysis kills momentum. We could sit and complain about something, or just try to start solving it.

What I'd do differently:

• Document processes while building them
• Celebrate small wins louder
• Trust my instincts
• Have more conviction when it mattered

The truth: Being a front line sales leader is 70% caring for your people and 30% strategy.

Get the people part right and everything else becomes easier.

The best referrals come with zero warning.

Last day of April, I'm on a call with a prospect who casually mentions: "Actually, Delve sent us your way."

Wait, what???!?

I'd never asked Selin Kocalar, Taher Lokhandwala, or anyone at Delve for a referral. I wasn't even the rep who worked with them (the GOAT Skyler handled that). We just work in the same building (different floors) and they'd been happy with Unify. 

The deal: One call close. New business record for the month.

My response: Grabbed some Tartine croissants, walked downstairs to their office, and said thank you in person.

The San Francisco truth: When you solve real problems for good people, they solve problems for you.

Selin Kocalar and her team at Delve are building something incredible (AI-native compliance that actually works). When they see other companies struggling with GTM, of course they think of solutions that have helped them.
