Accor Vacation Club

After an absence of a few years Marc returned as the National Marketing Manager and was responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Marketing Department and leading over 300 team members.

Marc actually just wanted to consult for them, as he could see that although they'd grown while he was away, they needed help. However, the CEO at the time wouldn't let Marc consult - he wanted him full time!

Aside from responsibility for Marketing Strategy, Marketing Plan and the Operating Budget, Marc also directed and oversaw all marketing activity for: Lead Generation, Direct Mail, Event Marketing
Promotions, Referral Programs and Telemarketing.

Working at Elkhorn Resorts was a terrific challenge for Marc! As Director of Marketing, he was responsible for the reorganization of the Marketing Department to enhance its production of quality prospects to 4 sales centers in Canada.

While there Marc successful introduced a number of programs that increased lead generation, sales and average revenue per sale's guest. Programs he introduced included - Event Marketing, Direct Mail and Promotions.

Marc also managed and enhanced the performance of two separate call centers operations, significantly increasing prospect delivery while lowering marketing costs.

Accor Première Vacation Club

The Accor Première Vacation Club  pulled Marc back to Australia. What was really exciting about working there for Marc was that it was the first branded points based vacation club in Australia.  

And, more importantly, it gave Marc the opportunity to develop a Marketing Department from the ground up and shape the team to deliver prospects to sales centres throughout Australia.

Marc was responsible for the development of the department and its day to day operations, which included direct responsibility for Strategic Planning, Market Assessment, Marketing Plan and Budget.

Working with the team, they launched a number of successful marketing initiatives and programs, which included: Outbound and Inbound Telemarketing, Direct Mail Campaigns, Event Marketing, Onsite Marketing and Promotions.

Shell Vacations LLC - Carriage Hills Resort

Located one hours drive north of Toronto, Canada, Carriage Hills Resort was a start up project which really challenged Marc, as he had to create the Marketing Department from the ground up. This is where Marc really learnt his stuff and created many fond memories of the people he worked with both at Carriage Hills Resort and at Shell Vacations - many of whom remain friends to this day.

While there Marc and his team grew the Marketing Department into one of the best departments in the company by developing and implementing very efficient and cost-effective marketing programs in the following areas: Telemarketing Lead Generation Campaigns, Direct Mail Campaigns, Referral Program, Event Marketing and Dinner Seminars.

As testament to their hard work and innovative marketing programs at the 1999 American Resort Development Association Convention the Marketing Team received Gold and Silver awards for Telemarketing Team, Telemarketing Program Manager and Telemarketing Agent.

Telstra Australia

Working for Telecom Australia, as it was known then (you'd know it as Telstra, now) was a real eye opener at a very exciting time for Marc, as the industry had just been de-regulated and Optus came into existence.

As the National Direct Marketing Manager, Marc was responsible for direct marketing communication to the company's 5.8 million residential customers utilizing an annual budget of $7 million. The budget doesn't sound so big by today's measure, however in the early 90's, it was impressive.

While there Marc learnt a lot from seasoned direct marketers, both within the group and in the agencies he managed and was instrumental in re-engineering the sales fulfilment process.

The general responsibilities of the position were the creation and implementation of the National Direct Marketing Plan with responsibility for achieving revenue and expenditure targets - which were met! Marc was also responsible for Strategic Development and the execution of Direct Response Campaigns, incorporating direct mail, telemarketing, electronic media and customer response handling.

Marc also had responsibility for the interface management of Advertising and Direct Marketing Agencies and the National Telemarketing Center.

Marc started Telemarketing Dynamics with a partner to provide direct marketing services to a wide variety of businesses in both Business-to-Business and Business-to-Consumer verticals.

It was the first company where the buck stopped with Marc, and where he developed his commercial sense and learnt that what you get done, is more important, than what you do!

Starting small as most companies do, Marc and his partner grew the company to service a diverse client base which included companies such as: BP Oil, Telecom Australia (now Telstra), National Heart Foundation (Queensland), Lyric Opera of Queensland, Queensland Philharmonic Orchestra, Interval Property Management LTD, Resort Hotels of Australia, and Club Noosa Resort, among others.

As an equity partner and director Marc's duties involved day-to-day responsibility for staff supervision, recruitment and training, campaign development, as well as, client relations.
