A reel I posted few months back went viral.
Many did not like what I said.

I simply pointed out a basic truth.

Turnover is not profit.
Long hours do not guarantee growth.
And working without permits or registrations is not a long term plan.

Most street food vendors run everything alone.
No FSSAI license.
No GST record.
No income tax filing.
No safety net.
No PF.
No health cover.
No retirement fund.

If the body shuts down, the income shuts down.
If the corporation takes action, the stall disappears.

Some argued back with examples like Dolly Chaiwala.
He is one out of millions.
A rare exception cannot be the model for everyone.

Some said people have bought flats and cars.
Buying assets is not the same as building wealth.
It is not the same as creating a stable future.
It is not the same as growing a business in a structured way.

Some said owning something is better than working for others.

I agree.

But ownership without structure is only a job without backup.

Zero to one takes time.
But ignoring the risk because you saw one success story is not courage. It is blindness.

Entrepreneurship is not about glorifying your work but about building it on solid ground with clarity, compliance and long term thinking.

Biggest win for a content creator isn’t that you have got massive following or emails full of brand deals. 

It is about how approachable you are to your followers and people asking for help. 

Lately, my DM and comments sections has been buzzing continuously with queries or people looking out for solution. 

Do I ignore them by simply giving myself a influencer tag?

I have observed a lot of profiles. Managed by creators themselves and agencies. 

One point where they lack is not caring enough about their questions. Remember your job isn’t only about creation. 

If you want them to consume more of what you create then you have to be reachable, talking to them and solving their issues. 

I do it often by replying to majority of comments, responding to their DM or sending voice note to personalize them and I am repeaing rewards for the same. 

Not that I am small creator but for me those people are the foundation of growth that I have witnessed.

- Too much money goes into ads when the show itself isn’t ready.

- Too many creators think clips will directly grow their podcast when they mostly grow the social page.

A podcast grows when the basics are strong.

Four simple ways to do better:

✅Create more episodes with a steady schedule.

✅Improve the content before improving the packaging.

✅Use newsletters, cross-promotions, and other creators to reach new listeners.

✅Track how long people listen, not how many views your clips get.

Here’s what changed in 3 years:

Three years ago, I wrote a cliché post that went viral.
The gist of it was:

1) Stop scrolling through your own life.

Real life doesn’t happen in your glorified posts.

It happens in the 5 quiet minutes before a meeting starts.
In the random chat that makes you laugh.
In the pause before you hit “Post.”

2) Keep the small wins.

You chase the big stuff and viral posts, promotions, and more zeros in the bank.

But the stuff that actually fills you up?
A message that says, “Your post helped me today.”
A kind comment from someone you respect.

Big wins are loud.
Small wins last.

3) Treat it like it’s the last time.

You rarely know when you’re talking to someone here for the last time.

The last comment from a connection who always showed up for you.
The last DM from someone who once cheered for you.

One day, they just stop appearing on your feed.
(They move jobs, go offline. Life shifts.)

If you knew it was the last time, you’d probably say something real instead of a quick emoji.
You’d say thanks for being there when your posts got barely 10 views.

Five years on LinkedIn taught me this:
Your LinkedIn community isn’t just an audience.
It’s a timeline of people who helped you keep showing up.

And one bio completely froze me mid-scroll.

Surprisingly, she doesn’t have any credentials in the headline.

Just this:
“Your smart ideas are invisible because your messaging feels forgettable.”

I started comparing that to what 99% people write:

“Marketing Expert | 10+ Years Experience | Helping Businesses Grow”

One hits your nervous system.
The other hits the recycle bin.

Here’s the shift she made:

Stopped describing herself and started naming her client’s “private frustration”.

Most bios list what they do.
Hers captured what they feel.

Then she gets specific:

Here came the line that separated her from everyone else:

“If you want viral posts and vanity metrics, I’m not your person.”

That sentence does two things at once:
 • Pushes away the wrong clients
 • Makes the right clients lean in harder

Why this works:

People don’t buy your credentials.

I went back to my roots and rediscovered what five years of hustle had made me forget.

Last week, I did something I haven’t done in ages.

I stood in the middle of the fields where I grew up.

The same soil my forefathers worked.
The same horizon I stared at as a kid, dreaming of “making it big.”

And you know what hit me first?

I had forgotten what earth smells like.

Twenty years of city life.
Five years of screens.
That’s all it took.

Those fields reminded me of a few things:

→ My cousins still remember my voice, even after the birthdays I missed
→ My parents’ eyes light up in a way no notification ever has
→ Real growth happens quietly, long before anyone claps for it

The last five years of building taught me something uncomfortable:

Your parents’ happiness matters more than your follower count.

That joint family you came from?

They’re still there.
Waiting.

I visited temples.

Breathed actual fresh air instead of recycled office air.

The hustle will always be there.

if you keep ignoring it.

I’m back now.

But I’m bringing my roots with me.
