In den vergangenen Tagen wurden Kyjiw und zahlreiche andere Städte in der Ukraine mit einer Brutalität angegriffen, die selbst für diesen Krieg eine neue Eskalationsstufe bedeutet. Russland beschießt Wohngebiete, wirft Bomben, schickt Drohnen und Raketen – Nacht für Nacht, ohne Pause. Millionen Menschen sind gezwungen, ihre Städte zu verlassen oder in Kellern, U-Bahnhöfen und Schutzräumen auszuharren, während der Winter allgegenwärtig ist und die Temperaturen auf unter minus zehn Grad fallen. Strom, Wärme und Wasser fehlen vielerorts. Was für viele nur eine Nachricht ist, ist für die Menschen in der Ukraine ein täglicher Kampf ums Überleben.

Und während sich die Welt weiterdreht, beginnt für sie jede Nacht aufs Neue der blanke Horror.

Und die Angriffe hören nicht auf
Feuerwehrleute löschen unter Lebensgefahr was zu löschen ist, obwohl jederzeit der nächste Schlag folgen könnt

Und dann kommt der Morgen
Doch kein Licht
Nur ein Himmel, dunkler als die Nacht
Nacht für Nacht in nahezu jeder Stadit in der Ukraine

„Wir werden getötet.
Der Krieg ist nicht vorbei.
Er ist schlimmer denn je.
Und wir haben keinen anderen Ort.
Die Ukraine ist unser Zuhause – und wir wollen kein anderes.“
