Storytelling for Sustainability + Social Impact 

Eco-Terric

Eco-terric is an online portal for healthy, sustainable, non-toxic home furnishings. As a communications strategist and creative director for this company, I helped launch an email campaign that increased sales almost 200% in the first quarter of 2020. Right in the middle of the Covid-19 epidemic. 

My creative leadership and copywriting have also guided a website rebrand, and the installation of a vast ecommerce platform (in progress).

Other responsibilities include:  writing and creative direction for local advertising, communications strategy and regular client meetings, updates, analytics tracking and reporting.

- Involved in initial branding for Authentic Alaska. This was a new product-based business unit for Huna Totem Corporation, an Alaska Native Company. Up until that time, Huna Totem's primary business focus was on tourism. This new lifestyle venture was designed to include food, beauty and home care products grown and nurtured in the Alaskan environment.  
- Developed tag line for all ongoing marketing efforts. 
- Edited and rewrote all copy for initial website tp reflect original content strategy focused on Alaska's culture of  warmth and hospitality.  
- Reframed and rewrote copy for a second website revision to align with strategic shift; revised key pages and wrote copy for around 10 content pages + shopping cart pages. 
- Worked with social media team to write blog posts oriented to flavor, recipes and unique product benefits.

Kimpton is one of the most collaborative environments I have ever worked in. As part of a three-person web team, all of us outside consultants, I was involved in everything from copywriting to research, to project management to tracking click-thru.  During this time, Kimpton added more than a dozen unique and distinct boutique hotels to their existing roster. 

𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬.

- Helped create and then recreate Kimpton's iconic brand. 

- Collaborated with Kimpton’s web team on new concepts for the home page and promotional approaches. Wrote taglines, named programs and kept a lot of balls in the air. Reported to the team when new approaches got results.

- Turned around everything from simple updates to writing lines for short promos on the home page to copywriting for landing pages. 

- Managed content updates for the Kimpton Intranet. Contacted stakeholders, gathered content, reviewed, edited & uploaded operational descriptions, adding images, and writing some sections in a user-friendly tone. Got to know everyone in the organization. 

- One of my first jobs for Kimpton? Rewriting the Kimpton corporate website, making the voice more guest-centric and personal. 

- Did internet research on the effects of sound, light and scent on the customer experience.
