High-Ticket Lead Generation & Brand Building on LinkedIn

Alright, I'm f*cked.
Just tested a new AI-powered LinkedIn content system.
I'm certain it will replace 90% of LinkedIn Ghostwriters.

If I believed every “AI just killed ghostwriting” post on LinkedIn, I’d have shut down DG Labs 12 months ago.

Founders need content that sounds like them - not like everyone else.

Posting on LinkedIn isn't scary.

THIS is scary!

I've met 50+ founders who are scared to post on LinkedIn.

Anyone who posts knows that their friends & colleagues will laugh at them - at the start, this got to me too.

A few things helped me get past it. I hope they can help you too:


1. Starting slow

I’m very big on posting with a specific goal in mind, however, that goal can literally be anything. For the first 3 months, my goal was to ‘get comfortable posting and learn what works’.

No plan to monetise, no lead gen strategy, I was purely trying to get better at posting on LinkedIn. If you don’t know what you want a personal brand for yet, start there.


2. Bad posts don't get seen

The algorithm is your brand’s insurance policy - If your post is a load of sh*t, rest assured the algorithm won’t show it to anyone anyway. So risk it all, post rogue stuff you believe in, be bold. 

Best case = it works, worst case = you learn what doesn’t.


3. Massive commercial benefit

Once you realise how much easier things come when you post on LinkedIn, it becomes hard to stop — why spend ££££ on ads, PR, content, etc when you can get further by posting 5x/week.

You’d be surprised how fast ‘feeling embarrassed’ goes out the window once you sign your first client directly through LinkedIn.


4. Messages of appreciation

I’ve had countless heartfelt messages of appreciation from people who are struggling with ADHD, building small businesses, or trying to get to grips with LinkedIn — it’s really touching. Hearing how your posts are genuinely improving others’ lives can become a big driver for posting.


5. The transience of it all

The world moves fast and social media moves faster. It might feel like a big deal to you to post something vulnerable, but the reality is people don’t care half as much as you think they do.

If I stopped posting, people would forget about me within a few months, my business would fade, and life would go on. This gives me a sense of control because I can ‘turn it off’ if I like, while also motivating me to continue producing valuable, memorable content for my audience.


6. Separating myself from my online self

There’s a lot overlap between who I am and who I am on LinkedIn, but they’re not the same person. Some things remain off-limits on LinkedIn and this allows me to create healthy boundaries. It also allows me to take comments & criticism less personally… “that’s not me, it’s my brand!”


As founder of a LinkedIn lead gen agency, I’ve helped many Founders who feel uncomfortable posting on LinkedIn. 

It’s often the ones who are most uncomfortable at first that end up having the most success — they’re the humble ones with plenty to share!

I know there’s lots of active LinkedIn-ers lurking on here that don’t post – so I have a CHALLENGE for you!

That's the perk of celebrating jewish festivals...
No Christmas break. No slowing down.

So remember, while you're enjoying Mariah Carey and Christmas pud,

A Friday lesson on LinkedIn content:

My first 55 LinkedIn posts were bad.  But my 56th?

Great! Event went viral.

Post 81?  Landed a $49,000 client.

If I’d stopped at 55, or 80, I’d have missed:

→ $200K+ in revenue
→ 8000+ followers
→ 3M+ impressions
→ 1000s of leads (for me + clients)
→ Working remotely, surfing waves, building my dream agency

But most people don’t make it that far.

They post a few times.
Get low engagement.
Feel like it’s not working.

And give up right before they write that life-changing LinkedIn post.

So here’s 4 lessons for anyone who wants to give up:

1. Post more than you think you should 
↳ 1 bad post = 1 step closer to a good post

2. Write even when no one’s watching
↳ the drunk stranger that shouted 'DG Labs lets gooo! and bought me 2 tequilas at 2:34 am last Saturday suggests someone is always watching

3.Pick 3–5 clear topics
↳ talk about them repetitively from different angles

4. Focus on leads, not likes 
↳ most buyers never engage

5. Post 80 times
↳ and then post 80 more.

There's a 100% chance it will work out eventually if you never give up.

As a hopelessly single 28-year old man, 

I'd like to talk about the best ROI decision I've made:

My dog, Snow.

Context: Everyone on LinkedIn is posting their husband/wife for engagement bait. And it's Friday... so I'm allowed to do this.


Snow doesn’t make me dinner.
He doesn’t comment on my LinkedIn posts.
He doesn’t say “you’ve got this” before big sales calls.

He lies on the floor.
Wags his tail.
And has made me a better human than I could ever hope to be without him. 

Since getting him 4 years ago, I’ve:

→ Woken up earlier
→ Walked more (hello 12k average steps)
→ Built a real routine
→ Structured my day
→ Focused better
→ Closed more clients

Every founder or agency owners would generate more leads if they had a dog.
And I will die on that hill.

Because they’d finally have to stop working at 11pm and go outside.

And they'd realise there's more to life than their next sales call... put less pressure on it, and close clients more as a result.

And they'd learn what really drives connection and trust... allowing them to connect with their audience more.

And when they have a sh*t day and come home in a terrible mood... they'll have a furry friend to cheer them up - making them feel good enough to try again tomorrow.

So I don't have a wife yet...
But I do have the best business coach out there.

That  came from the biggest player in our client's trillion-dollar industry.

She finally got through to the head of largest industry association in North America.

Before she could even introduce herself, he said:

“I’ve been keeping up with your CEO on LinkedIn. It was refreshing to read her comments on tech, and great to see leaders like her sharing knowledge with others. 

Oh, and you're tech solves a problem in a way we've never seen before - we're interested"

He's never liked a post.
Or left a comment.

Just lurked, read, and silently absorbed.
Nothing more than a 'post impression' on the dashboard.

That’s the power of familiarity.

None of her posts have gone viral.
Rarely do they get >100 likes.

So, I guess if you're someone whose STILL not posting because you're a little embarrassed, or don't have the time, or don't know what to post....

There’s a new layer in the LinkedIn algorithm and no one is talking about it.

Interest clusters.          (Interest what????)

For people who post: 

When you post, LinkedIn scans the content & categorises it.
It then shares it with people who have shown interest in that specific topic.

(If it can’t categorise well, your posts won't gain much traction)

For people who scroll: (you blo*dy lurkers)

LinkedIn uses your likes, comments, and dwell time to create your 'topic fingerprint' - a collection of topics you care about.
E.g. AI, leadership, B2B sales, how cute my dog is, etc).
It then serves you more content from that specific category.

That’s why…

1. Generic reflections are getting less reach
↳ hard to categorise

2. Niche content is getting more traction
↳ easy to categorise. Easy to know who to show to

3. Personal posts without business value are underperforming 
↳ peronal posts need to have a lesson/angle/theme

If LinkedIn can’t classify your content, it can’t recommend it.

This is a shift from social networking → interest-based discovery.

It's why LinkedIn is increasingly becoming a worse platform for content creators,
And a better platform for generating leads.

Your reach is shrinking.
But your audience is becoming way more aligned (& interested).
