He was sending job applications at 2 A.M. while his roommates slept.

Every morning, the same email. "We regret to inform you..."

No name. No human. Just a machine rejecting him.

Madurai Veeran figured out why.

Companies receive 2,000 CVs. HR feeds keywords into an ATS software. 

Only matching CVs get shortlisted. The rest get an auto-rejection. No human ever even opens them.

So he did something nobody told him to do.

He copied the exact job description of every role he applied for. Pasted it on the last page of his CV. Font size 6. White color.

To any human - the page looked blank.

To the ATS - it was a perfect match.

No more rejection emails.

He went on to switch 13-14 jobs, going from ₹15,000 a month to ₹10 lakhs a month.

He said it best himself: "You are giving the decision to a machine. It is my job to beat the machine."

She came from a small town in Rajasthan with absolutely zero CA background in her family.

She had multiple attempts in her CA Inter exams and had no rank.

But despite all odds, she gave 25 interviews without a single reference and cracked top CA firms! 

She is none other than Juhi Manwani, and her persistence completely blew my mind.

While most students cry over failing an attempt, she used rejection as her biggest stepping stone.

Here is the exact framework she used to beat rankers:

-> Her very first interview at a startup firm was a disaster. They aggressively grilled her on Revenue Recognition, Leases, and PE/PB ratios, and she was rejected 

-> Instead of giving up, she sent over 100 cold emails and LinkedIn messages to employees & partners just to secure more interviews

-> She realized she needed to strictly study the Job Description. For her BDO interview, she specifically prepared Transfer Pricing & Tax, and for Grant Thornton (GT), she mastered basic Accounting Standards (AS) for a Statutory Audit role

-> She cracked KNAV's Global Tax role by tackling tough questions on Deferred Taxes, Current Taxes, and Permanent vs. Temporary differences

-> To compensate for her multiple attempts, she built a massive "Extra-Curricular" column. She used her experience in school & ICAI regional competitions to show genuine confidence 

The result? She secured a great role at KNAV and even got an interview call from EY just a month later! 

She proved that a CA attempt is not the end of your career.

Should you move to Mumbai for a CA Articleship?

Here's the detailed breakdown based on my discussion with 3 CA Final students on my podcast:

-> Income:

- Big 4 Firms - ₹15,000/month (Year 1) & ₹20,000/month (Year 2) 

- Mid-size Firms - ₹10,000 to ₹17,500 per month

- Small-size Firms - ₹6,000 to ₹8,000 per month 

-> Expenses: 

- One of the students (Juhi Manwani) shared that if you relocate to Mumbai, you need a bare minimum of ₹25,000 a month just to survive.

- Her exact fixed expenses: 

1. Rent for a shared flat : ₹10,500
2. Basic groceries : ₹2,000-₹3,000
3. Electricity : ₹1,000-₹2,000
4. Traveling - ₹1,000 - ₹2,000

Because of this brutal math, most outstation students are left with zero savings and often have to ask their parents for money to cover medical or discretionary expenses.

I asked Juhi if it was actually worth it for her to go to Mumbai and deal with that massive added expense.

She firmly said yes.

She explained that Mumbai gives you unmatched corporate exposure, and she credited her decision to move to Mumbai as the only reason she has reached where she has reached today.

Short-term financial pain in your early 20s can set you up for massive growth and a completely different career trajectory for the rest of your life.

Most communication training is solving the wrong problem.
I realized this when my most articulate client had a 70% team attrition rate.

Perfect words. Zero emotional awareness.

Here's what nobody separates clearly enough:
Communication is expressing yourself well.
Emotional intelligence is knowing how, when, and whether to speak at all.

Most training teaches one. 
And calls it both.

After training 4,500+ professionals, the pattern is clear.
The ones who stayed stuck almost never had the wrong words.
They had no idea what the room felt like from the other side

Communication without emotional intelligence is just performance.

It looks like leadership. 
It sounds like leadership.

The people sitting across from it always know the difference.

When did you last check how people actually feel after a conversation with you?

At 24, my ex-husband told me I was too dumb to communicate.
Last week, a national media outlet ranked me #5 among India's top LinkedIn influencers.

I found out today. 
Through my sister.

I didn't pitch myself.
I didn't know the list existed.

I just kept showing up.

For my students. 
For this platform. 
For the version of me that refused to become what someone else decided I was.

Nobody tells you what it feels like when recognition finds you.
We're only ever taught how to chase it.

If someone told you that you weren't enough at something,
Are you still carrying their opinion? Or what you've built since?

There's a specific kind of silence that happens when a fresher tries to speak up in a room full of seniors.

My students feel it every single day.

Nobody tells them what to do with it.

The first time I presented to a director, I rehearsed 14 times.

Forgot everything the moment I walked in.

Preparation and presence are two different things. I only had one of them.

3 things I teach every fresher before their first serious meeting:

Speak in the first 5 minutes. 
Even a question counts. 
Silence in the first 10 sets your position for the rest of the room.

Make one specific observation
not a general comment. 

Seniors notice specificity immediately.

Don't wait to be certain. 
Wait to be clear. 

Those are not the same thing. That silence doesn't come from not knowing enough.

It comes from waiting for permission to speak.

Stop waiting.

Which of these 3 do you struggle with most?

You've been interrupted 3 times in today's meeting. 
By the same person.

You had the right point. 
You had the data.

Someone talked right through it.

Here's what nobody says out loud:
The interruption didn't start when they cut you off.
It started before you opened your mouth.

The drop in your voice when you sensed pushback. 
The pause that said "I'm not sure you want to hear this." 
The glance around the room, checking if it was okay.

Rooms read every single one of those signals.

One thing I teach every client this happens to:
When you get cut off, don't fight it. Don't go quiet.

Wait 4 seconds. 
Re-enter with: "I want to come back to the point I was making."

Not asking. 
Stating.

The room recalibrates. Every time.

Getting interrupted isn't the end of your credibility.
Staying silent after it is.

What's one habit you notice in yourself right before you speak in a group?

“We have an open feedback culture.”
Most companies say this. Very few actually mean it.

Because the moment honest feedback shows up,
people call it attitude or negativity.

The truth?
Growth only happens where honest conversations are allowed.

Every trainer has one session they never talk about.
This is mine.

150 people. Corporate session. High stakes.
By minute 15, I'd lost the room.

Phones out. Side conversations. 
Someone checking the time every 3 minutes.

I kept going. Tried harder. 
Spoke louder.

It only got worse.

I finished. Said thank you. 
Got into my cab and cried.

Then I asked myself one question:
What did I miss before I even began?

I had prepared the content. Not the audience.

I didn't know what those 150 people were carrying that day. 
What they actually needed to hear.

Now I ask two questions before every session:
→ What are you most stuck on right now? 
→ What would make today worth your next hour?

Content changes less than you'd expect. 
Connection changes everything.

Communication isn't what you say.
It's what the other person walks away carrying.
