As a newly appointed Ambassador at Integrity Film Finance Fund, I am on an exciting journey to connect innovative investors with the vibrant world of film financing. My role in the fund's ambitious $250 million investment initiative is to uncover unique opportunities within A+++ List films in Hollywood for those seeking to diversify and enrich their investment portfolios. With a fresh perspective in finance and a burgeoning passion for the film industry, my mission is to introduce and guide investors through the captivating realm of cinematic project investments.

Responsibilities:

- Represent the vision and mission of the Integrity Film Finance Fund to a new wave of potential investors.

Co-founded Venture Starters together with the serial entrepreneur Mark November.

We launched Venture Starters about three months ago with the idea that networking is the key to the success of every startup and early-stage company.

Mark November has been investing in startups for more than 45 years and while the first 25 years were investing in his own ideas, the next 20 years have been about others'.

Venture Starters is where the people who start ventures can meet every Wednesday night for a large-scale zoom meeting with up to 500 attendees.

We just got started and we are pleased that we have over 100 attendees most nights. We plan to grow the community and attendance this fall to even greater heights!

Generally, we have 25 startups do a 2-minute elevator pitch and investors ask a few questions.

The actual networking happens in the Chat section where all attendees can reach out to each other including the founders who give 2-minute elevator pitches.

One of the early-stage companies who gave a 2-minute elevator pitch to raise $1M - $3M during the last two Wednesday events had 15 people reach out to him. 15! 

And the Venture Starters community is growing daily!

Our Venture Starters company page on Linkedin has over 2200 followers and we are getting between 1 or 2 new ones every hour, 24 hours a day. This means that we will probably reach 3,000 within the next 30-45 days. 5,000 is not far behind.

I’m driven by the intersection of culture, community and capital.

When I was a freshman in college I leaned into my passion to become a College Radio DJ hosting my own radio show, Southern Hospitality Radio, at my alma mater, Guilford College in Greensboro, NC. Despite it being an unlikely start for a career in venture capital, that experience gave me my very first entry into the building blocks of entrepreneurship.

After graduation I returned back home to Atlanta. I took a seasonal associate job at Macy's and worked my way up into sales, operations, and store management roles. For the next decade I worked with Tiffany & Co, Smile Direct Club, Saks Off 5th, and other premium retailers. These roles gave me valuable learning experiences into how to build team culture, manage people, and successfully run a business.

By 2018 I had the "itch" to get back to my entrepreneurial roots after I came across a new music tech startup in Atlanta by the name of MyMyMusic.  I saw an opportunity to help build the MyMuMusic brand. Over the next two-plus years I received a crash course in working for a startup in a variety of capacities, including Partnerships, Community Management, Brand Development, Go To Market strategy and Investor Relations. For me, pitching the business to investors and understanding deal structures was the most interesting.

In 2019, as I continued to integrate myself into the Atlanta startup and tech ecosystem, I was selected as one of the Founding 100 Stakeholders for The Russell Innovation Center for Entrepreneurs (the largest accelerator for black businesses in the nation). I also became a Foundation Member at The Gathering Spot in Atlanta.

Just before the pandemic, I received an opportunity to build on my growing interest in investing and was selected as a Venture Partner with Republic. Tragically, a few months later George Floyd was murdered in Minneapolis. That moment was a watershed moment for our country, and it forced me to critically think about how I was using my platform to better serve entrepreneurs that looked like me. I spent the summer of 2020 researching investing and venture capital while building relationships with people in VC. By the Fall of 2020, I accepted a role as Managing Partner with the Atlanta area firm Vertical404, a seed stage fund focused on investing in Black, Latinx and Female founders of cloud-based SaaS companies.

Throughout all of my experiences, it has always come back to culture, community and capital, and I'm excited to continue that work in Atlanta with Drive.
