We are also advocating for a 2-year extension, because we need more time to create sensible regulation that creates safe access for adults.

This month (and literally at this moment!) hemp and bev alc leaders are on the Hill supporting Baird's extension request.  While there's traction, there's more work to do, particularly on the Senate side. LIVE from the Beer, Wine, & Spirits Summit in Coronado, CA! A lot of acknowledgment during the beer and seltzer sessions that consumer behavior is shifting, and TH🌊 beverage is here and growing. Also, a lot of optimism that intoxicating hemp beverage beverage will find a way forward to continue its current path beyond Nov 2026 - so contact your congressmen and encourage them to support the hemp extension amendments!

Whether it’s the extension or a plan B or C that gets it done, we’re seeing the momentum continue to grow for intoxicating hemp.

Looking back on the last year, we had limited support from alcohol, retail and the traditional business segments on the Hill. It was Coalition for Adult Beverage Alternatives ans Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America leading the beverage charge. Now we have groups like NACS, American Beverage Licensees (ABL), the Beer Wholesalers for Responsible Regulation, and many large retailers and ancillary services mobilizing and collaborating on efforts. What a difference a year can make!
