Most teams try and solve the bottom-of-funnel gap by creating content. 
If you’re doing this, you’re working backwards.

Most marketers are starting surface level 

“Let me create this blog post” 

But it doesn’t start with the blog itself. 

It starts with the information used to create said blog. 

So think about this as a layered actions. 

Layer 1: Cross functional communication 

The trickiest thing about bottom-of-funnel content is it requires input from each team, when most teams don’t talk to each other. If possible, carve out some time to talk to one person from each team, sales, product, CS. Creating a slack channel with one person from each team can be helpful.

Layer 2: Consistent documentation 

Those internal docs that are sitting in G workspace or spread across teams? Gather those and create a centralized knowledge base of information that you use to train AI on your product, and persona(s).

Layer 3: Bottom-of-funnel content 

Once AI is trained on your company, products and persona(s), then use that information to start creating BOFU content, knowing it’s aligned because you got input from other teams and pulling from a single source of truth.

This exact problem is why BOFU.ai was created.

These steps won't be done in one day.

Getting you inbound leads through Content Design

I ran an agency for 6 years and invisibility nearly killed it (twice).  

We 100% relied on word-of-mouth marketing:

- Leads from friends and family (not even kidding)
- Leads from former and current clients
- Leads through competitors

We took on what we could get.

Sometimes we skyrocketed. Often we struggled.

The feast and famine cycle was real.

And it was painfully frustrating.

As a business owner, I didn't have:

- Time and focus on growth
- Time to take care of my team
- Time to generate leads myself

I was consistently hustling and putting out fires.

When I pivoted in 2022, I chose a different strategy:

→ Creating content to build a reputation and presence
→ Creating content to show the world my offering
→ Creating content to generate leads every week

At least, that was the plan.

It took me months to do it:

I started with text posts. Then I added visuals. Then I added carousels. Then I 'designed' my content. Every upgrade increased my growth and revenue.

This led me to craft a new solution:

Infographics. 

But people avoid them because (they think) it’s hard.
 
Here’s a dead simple structure I use: 

1. Start with the hook 
– "How to" or "How I" works well 
– Or call out your ICP with a quote
 
2. Pick one clear topic 
– One problem, one angle, one outcome
 
3. Break the idea into steps 
– 3-10 actions that solve the problem 
– Steps should feel like a natural sequence
 
4. Add structure 
– Give each step its own section 
– Create hierarchy so the reader knows where to look
 
5. Add navigation 
– Use numbers or arrows 
– Guide the reader through the flow
 
6. Add context 
– 1–3 short lines that explain each step 
– Use the language your ideal audience uses
 
7. Improve readability 
– Simple words, short sentences 
– Contrast and spacing
 
8. Fill the remaining space with value 
– Add small tips, examples, or clarifications 
– Be creative: there’s no such thing as perfect
