46 isn’t something I take lightly.

Some people hate their birthday.

Me? I love it.

Because ageing is a privilege.

Not everyone gets to do it.

So many people never reach 46… and that alone is something to be grateful for.

So many fear ageing and the future

But every time we worry about the future,

We steal time from the only place we actually have power: right now.

Right now is where life happens.

Right now is where choices are made.

Right now is where energy is created.

Not in “one day.”

Not when things are calmer.

Not when you finally feel ready.

We spend so much time preparing for a life we forget to live it.

And yet…

You already hold more power than you realise.

More influence over your energy.

More say in how today feels.

More choice than you give yourself credit for.

If you’re breathing, you’re still in the game.

And if you’re still in the game, you get to decide how fully you show up.

That’s the real gift.

For a long time, I lived in the past.

When I was medically retired from the police because of my mental health and a diagnosis of Bipolar and OCD…my world collapsed.

It was not just my job, but

→ My identity.
→ My confidence.
→ My sense of worth.

And I dwelled on it for a LONG time

→ What did I do wrong?
→ Why couldn’t I cope?
→ Why was everyone else strong and I wasn’t?
→ What if I had pushed harder?
→ What if I’d said something sooner?

I thought I was reflecting, but I was not

I was punishing myself, dwelling doesn’t heal you, It traps you.

Every time I went back there mentally, I stole something from my present moment right now

It also took chunks from my energy, peace and my future

Then someone said something that changed everything:
“You’re not meant to live in your past. You’re meant to draw from it.”

It is the same story....medically retired BUT a different power source.

Dwelling says:
→→→  “This is who I am.”

Drawing says:
 →→→  “This is what shaped me.”

One keeps you small, and one builds you strong.

My medical retirement wasn’t my destination; it was a chapter that paved the way for me to do the work I am doing right now 

So if you’re stuck replaying old moments…
→ Old regrets…
→ Old versions of yourself…

Ask yourself:
Am I using this as a prison…

Or as a platform?

Because every minute you live in the past, you steal a moment from the present.
And the present is where your next version is waiting.

I used to live in the future...but not in a hopeful way

In an anxious, paralysing way

I would think about next month

Six months from now

A year ahead

And instead of it motivating me…

It shut me down

It stole my creativity

My ability to plan

My energy

And even how I showed up for my clients

Because I wasn’t in the room

I was in my head, trying to survive a future that hadn’t even arrived

The future felt heavy, uncertain and unsafe

So my nervous system did what it does best:
It froze

Then I learned something that changed everything for me

I asked myself this question

"What IS the TRUTH here?"

Because truth doesn’t live in the past or in the future 

Truth lives in NOW.

Right now is real.

And right now is where my power is

The past is memory

The future is imagination

But the present?

That’s truth

And when I started anchoring myself back to NOW…

My creativity came back

My energy lifted

My thinking became clearer

Not because everything was suddenly perfect, but because I stopped time travelling and started living.

I stopped asking,
“What if it all goes wrong?”

And started asking

“What is true for me right now?”

So if you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious or frozen by what’s coming next…

Come back to truth

Come back to now

That’s where your power has always been

Your business isn’t the problem.

You forgetting who you are is.

Most people don’t come to us because their business is failing

They come to us because they are disappearing inside it

They feel stuck, frustrated, and more negative than they have ever felt 

That leaves them thinking… “This isn’t who I am.”

Because it’s not.

What’s actually happened is this:

They have poured so much of themselves into their work that they have forgotten their core identity.

The part of them that existed before the titles, the pressure, the responsibility, the expectations.

And when you lose connection to who you are…

Life starts to feel heavy and slow instead of expansive and in flow

This week, I watched two clients step back into who they really are:

One just started her lorry driving qualification 🚛

Yes. You read that right

Not because she “had to.”

But because her soul lit up at the idea of it

Another just stepped up as the LEAD skier for a group of advanced skiers ⛷️

The version of her that once played small is gone

Neither of these wins came from “working harder.”

They came from one sentence:

“I matter. This feeling isn’t right. I’m allowed to want more.”

Sometimes we stay with the devil we know because it feels safer

But the devil you know is often the thing destorying you

And the moment you say yes to yourself…

Life starts saying yes back

For academic praise, achievements, and staying "switched-on"

That’s why slowing down feels uncomfortable.

Not because it’s wrong.

But because it’s unfamiliar, and because of this 

Our output and what we "do" became tied to our identity

Resting became conditional, and our worth?

It became something we needed to earn

I can tell you that pushing harder is not power; it's a conditioning

Real power comes from reconnecting to yourself

The you who does not need to rely on external things to feel worthy

And realising you don’t have to earn rest to deserve it.

So when you want to slow down this week, notice what comes up for you

Because that reaction holds a whole story

January used to feel more stressful than December for me.

In December I had permission to slow down.

But when January came, it came with a whole host of pressure

Becuase all you hear is 

New year
Big vision
New goals
Clear plans

And if you didn’t have it all mapped out by week one?

It felt like you were already behind.

Am I right or am I right?

For a lot of us this time of year can turn into the biggest comparison trap you have ever seen

You see other people’s bold goals.

Their big announcements.
 
And hugely confident declarations.

And suddenly you become doubtful, not because you lack ambition but because that comparison has crept in

Your stress have risen and hijacked any clarity

Here’s what most people won’t say out loud:

Pressure. Doesn’t. Produce. Clarity.

When your nervous system is overloaded, decision-making evaporates.

You rush, you second-guess, you set goals that look impressive… 

but the worst thing is they don’t actually feel aligned

WHY?

Because they end up being someone else's goals eeekkk
 
And then January becomes about forcing momentum rather than building it.

Hear this ok...

If you’re motivated but feeling stuck right now, nothing has gone wrong.

This might not be the month for final answers.

It might be the month for better questions.

What actually matters this year?
What needs refining before it needs scaling?
What pace would support your energy, not drain it?

You don’t need to have 2026 figured out in January.

You need enough clarity to take the next honest step.

The rest reveals itself as the noise settles.

Reminder: 

You’re not behind.
You’re in the middle.

And that’s a powerful place to lead from.

But falling apart behind the scenes

When my burnout hit, nobody saw it coming.

We were on radio shows, stages, on client calls, I had my makeup on

We even went on holiday, my energy looked ON and like I was on FIRE! 

Because from the outside, everything looked solid.

BUT behind closed doors, something was not right, I knew it, but I was just in denial about it 

But like so many of us who are on here, admitting that "I am not ok" feels quite dangerous, slowing down feels like a failure, and asking for help shows weakness

The facade of your "success" will be torn to pieces! 

So what do we all do? smile more, work faster, hold it together longer, until you crack

Here is what I know to be true after experiencing this and coaching people through it:

→ You don’t have to break to be allowed to take a break
→ You don’t have to run yourself ragged to deserve support
→ You don’t have to stop everything…

→→→→  But you do have to slow something.

Because if you don’t stop, then your body will stop you! And trust me, it is NEVER gentle

This one question stops most founders in thier tracks

When was the last time you did something you genuinely loved?

Not for growth or visibility

Not because it was “useful.”

Just because it lit you up.

For most business owners and leaders we work with, the answer is uncomfortable

Why? Because they can't answer it

Sometimes it’s been 2, 3, or even 5 years.

Not because they don’t care, but because they care so much.

They give everything to their business.
→ To their clients.
→ To their team.
→ To the people they serve.

And somewhere along the line…

They stop giving anything to themselves.

We hear introductions like:
→ “Hi, I’m a business owner.”
→ “I’m a director.”
→ “I run a company.”
→ “I’m married.”
→ “I have kids.”

All true BUT all external.

But that’s not who you are.

That’s what you do and what you have.

The real question is:
→ Who are you without your role?
→ What do you love?
→ What makes you feel alive?
→ What would you create if success weren’t the only thing that mattered?

Burnout in high achievers isn’t just exhaustion....it’s identity loss.

Your business was built to support your life.

 Not replace it.

Let me ask you this:  If you introduced yourself today without mentioning your job…who would you be?

This is how real change actually begins.

Not with louder voices but earlier conversations.

Today wasn’t just a session at a school but a major step!

This is the next stage of the Violence Against Women and Girls work we’ve been building…

And I couldn’t be prouder of Barry (Baz) and Ben for leading it.

Myself and Gemma have been focusing on women and girls, which matters, in giving them a voice and confidence inside and out

But prevention starts earlier, with our boys, education, emotional awareness and taking responsibility. 

Today we took a giant leap forward by stepping into that space.

It is about teaching young men that strength is:
 • Emotional intelligence
 • Respect
 • Accountability
 • Integrity
 • Self-leadership

That is how culture changes, what leadership looks like, and what long-term safety looks and feels like

We are all so proud of the work we’re doing with Kent Police and AMK Krav Maga and proud of the direction this project is taking.

But most importantly so proud that today, we didn’t just protect the future…we started shaping it.

Today was a big step forward in reducing violence against women and girls.

As many of you know, Loz has been working closely with Kent Police and Gemma from AMK Krav Maga, delivering powerful sessions to women and girls in our communities and local schools, helping them feel safer, stronger, and more confident.

But today, the focus shifted.

I was invited to deliver a session to the young lads at Astor School… my old school.

Walking back through those doors brought back a lot of memories and reminded me just how important this work really is.

If we truly want to reduce violence against women, we cannot only educate women.

We must educate young men too.

Today we spoke about:

.Mental health
.Emotional health
.Responsibility and accountability
.And what it really means to be a real man.

I shared our story of living with mental health challenges. Not from a place of weakness, but from a place of honesty and strength. Because real strength is being able to understand your emotions, talk about them, and choose how you respond.

Also Ben from AMK, delivered a practical self-defence session. This wasn’t about aggression or dominance, but about awareness, boundaries, and understanding the reality of physical safety. It was a powerful way to connect respect with responsibility.

Being a man is not about power or control.
It’s about respect.
It’s about integrity.
It’s about protecting, not harming.
It’s about knowing your worth without needing to dominate others.

These young lads asked thoughtful questions. They listened. They reflected.
 And that’s how change starts.

One conversation at a time.
One classroom at a time.
One generation at a time.

Proud to be part of this work. Proud of Loz. Proud to stand alongside Kent Police, and Gemma and Ben from AMK Krav Maga.

If we want safer communities, we have to build better foundations.
And that starts with our boys.

I’ve been reading a lot recently about the new focus on protecting children from misogyny and abuse

And for me… it just feels like the conversation is finally catching up with what we have been seeing in the world for a long time.

It is not new to us; it is already happening in the rooms we all walk into.

What I see isn’t “bad kids” or “dangerous boys.”

What we see is confusion, curiosity with no guidance and young people trying to work out 

Who they are
What’s acceptable
What respect actually looks like

And it makes me think…

We teach children how to cross the road
We teach them stranger danger
We teach them online safety

But we rarely teach them how to treat each other.

How to respect boundaries
How to manage strong emotions
We rarely teach them how to read discomfort
How to understand consent beyond just a word

And yet that’s where so much harm begins.

It does not always start with violence or cruelty, but with beliefs and what feels "normal"  and what goes unchallenged

That is why Barry (Baz), Gemma, Ben and I are working in schools to create space for real conversations that actually make a difference

You can see it in their faces; they are not on the defensive, they are actually relieved that the conversations are being had

They are relieved to finally have language for things they have been feeling but couldn’t name.

It is not about blame, but about guidance 

It’s about giving young people the tools before confusion turns into harm, silence becomes shame, and misunderstanding becomes entitlement

And I truly believe this:

If we can teach a child how to cross a road safely,
we can teach them how to cross emotional boundaries safely too.

That’s not politics, that is leadership and care, and that is how REAL change starts
