What is a diverse professional? Women, minorities, introverts, LGBTQIA+, neurodiverse… anyone who looks, sounds, or thinks different from others in the workplace.

It’s me. I’m a woman, Asian, an introvert, who looks really young. 

In past corporate roles, I felt frustrated, like I could do more, but I wasn’t always given the chance. The confusing thing was, I was getting fantastic feedback. 

There wasn’t any obvious bias or anything overtly intentional… but that didn’t change the fact that I wasn’t where I knew I could be. 

Unfortunately the traditional advancement system puts diverse professional at a disadvantage. Unconscious bias sneaks in, without people noticing - because it disguises itself as logic. 

It took me a while… but I found a way to break through - outside of the system.

Key responsibilities:
• Lead, supervise, and coordinate all aspects from planning and scheduling to execution and delivery.
• Controlling feeding carriages of LB, PLC, and pneumatic systems.
• Maintenance of instruments/machines & addressing Breakdowns.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including procurement, quality assurance, and maintenance to ensure seamless production operations.

Under the organization, I held a production executive role, and I managed the above-mentioned duties and tasks by consulting my subordinates (63 employees) to achieve overall organizational goals.

• Proficiently handled data recording, analysis, and documentation for project tracking, compliance, and decision-making.
• Managed precision geological equipment,
• Maintaining laboratory facilities, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
• Meticulously carried out checks and inspections of construction, ensuring adherence to strict standards in multiple high-profile projects, (Win Power Plant and Power Distribution Stations)
• Demonstrated mechanical competence while contributing to vital projects for smooth operation & project success

At the company, I played the role of supervisor and technician. There were 6 employees who worked under me, and I guided them to succeeding projects.

Indo East Engineering & Construction (Lanka) PTE LTD is synonymous with a private limited company that acts responsibly towards the community and the environment. Power plant construction was founded in 1989. The Company began operations in a small way with a staff of 40. Initially, the business was only in Power plant construction and repairs. This focus continued till 1995 when Indo East was incorporated as a private limited company.

My Duties and Responsibilities:
• Designing and overseeing the mechanical construction of infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, buildings, water, and sewage systems.
• Designing and developing mechanical systems, components, and products.
• Conducting simulations and testing to evaluate the performance of designs.
• Troubleshooting and resolving problems with mechanical systems.
• Evaluating the impact of design changes and making modifications as necessary
• Staying up to date with advances in electrical engineering and incorporating new technologies into designs.

In addition to: 

• Mechanical Expertise:
(Conducted comprehensive inspections and diagnostics of engines to ensure the optimal performance and reliability of vehicles. Proficiently addressed engine issues and executed necessary repairs with precision, contributing to the seamless operation of mechanical systems.)

(Demonstrated exceptional skills in diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical systems, meticulously inspecting components, and conducting thorough testing procedures. Played a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the functionality of electrical systems, ensuring efficiency and safety.)

As a B.Tech student in Mechanical and Manufacturing Technology, I'm passionate about designing and optimizing products and processes for the Automotive and Manufacturing sectors. I'm currently an Automation and Process Development Engineer at Lanka Precision Engineering, a leading provider of stamping tools, spare parts, and precision machine components.

I am a results-driven Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineer with a proven track record of over 5 years, dedicated to delivering precision and innovation in the mechanical industry. My experience spans various sectors, including automotive, construction, and electrical engineering, where I have consistently elevated the quality of mechanical activities and solutions.

My expertise lies in harnessing cutting-edge mechanical and manufacturing technology to tackle complex challenges with forward-thinking solutions that consistently exceed customer expectations.
