• In this role, I oversee and manage the overall business and operations of a group of hotels, resorts, and leisure facilities. I am responsible for ensuring the operational and overall performance of the company's hotels and resorts, aligning them with approved budgets and guided by revenue, cashflow, GOP, PAT, implementation schedules, and feasibility studies.

• My responsibilities include developing short-term action plans and long-term strategies based on approved budgets, driving growth and profitability. I provide continuous guidance to Resort Managers, ensuring that the resorts operate within cost-effective measures, adhere to timelines, and comply with established standards.

• Notable achievements in this role include surpassing the FYE 22/23 budget by 130%, as well as achieving the highest revenue for the month of Ramadhan 2023 and LIMA Langkawi 23. Additionally, I successfully attained the Key Results Area (KRA) for the month of May 23, with a GOP of 40% in relation to revenue.

Head of Resort 

Resort, Leisure & Education Division

In this role, I was responsible for closely monitoring the overall budget for operational and academic/student-related costs, including expenses related to visiting academicians and the effective utilization of learning support facilities. 

• I successfully led the academic team, ensuring the timely delivery of both online and face-to-face learning, especially during the challenging times of the Covid-19 pandemic.

• I played a key role in ensuring program accreditation and licensing compliance with regulatory bodies such as MQA, MOHE, Nursing Board, and DOSH. Notably, I achieved full accreditation for the Diploma in Business Management program.

• Additionally, I demonstrated strong multitasking abilities by taking on operational responsibilities and assuming the role of Chief Executive in the absence of the incumbent. During the initial stages of the MCO 1.0, I worked closely with top management on budgeting and cash flow, and prepared and presented strategic planning to the owner. These efforts aimed to ensure the sustainability of the company post-Covid.

• Furthermore, I conducted corporate training for inter-company clients, designing and proposing customized training modules to suit their specific needs. These training initiatives extended to various sectors, including resorts and foundations.

As the Resort Manager at Tropical Resort, I had direct involvement in both operational and financial matters for all properties, including the Melayu Malay Cuisine Restaurant and Tropical Eco Camping.

• Business Planning: I conducted comprehensive business planning for both high and low seasons, considering market dynamics and competition. This involved strategizing and diversifying the company's product offerings to remain competitive in the market.

• Sustainability Initiatives: I actively engaged in sustainability programs to enhance the experience for long-term and returning guests. This included implementing environmentally friendly practices and promoting sustainable tourism.

• Promotional Strategies: I developed and implemented promotional strategies through online travel agencies (OTA), travel agents, and individual travelers (FIT). These efforts aimed to increase visibility, attract new customers, and enhance customer loyalty.

• Purchasing and Cost Control: I closely monitored the purchasing process and managed costing for all outlets within the resort. This included ensuring cost-effective procurement practices and optimizing operational expenses.

During my tenure as the Front of House Supervisor, I assumed various responsibilities related to day-to-day front of house operations and management. These included:

• Customer Delight: I prioritized creating positive customer experiences by preparing in-room amenities, personalized welcome cards, and fostering guest relations. This focus on "Customer Delight" aimed to exceed guest expectations and enhance satisfaction.

• Staff Supervision and Property Maintenance: I oversaw the movement and coordination of housekeeping staff, ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of the property, both internally and externally. This involved maintaining high cleanliness standards and addressing any maintenance issues promptly.

• Costing and Purchasing: I was responsible for preparing cost estimates and managing the purchasing of hotel amenities, linens, and other supplies. Additionally, I actively contributed ideas for special occasions, ensuring memorable guest experiences.

As the Registrar during this period, I was responsible for various key functions related to educational administration and program development. My roles and achievements included:

1. Streamlining Procedures and Policies: I worked diligently to streamline procedures and policies, ensuring compliance with education standards set by local authorities such as MQA/MOHE. This involved establishing efficient processes for fee management, funding, and collection, aligning them with regulatory requirements.

2. Program Development: I played a vital role in developing the program structure for new hospitality programs, including skill-based training and short courses. I approached all work activities with a deliberate focus, ensuring each task was completed correctly, efficiently, and effectively.

3. Accreditation Achievements: I successfully obtained full accreditation for the Diploma in Hotel Management program and provisional accreditation for the Diploma in Tourism Management and Diploma in Culinary Arts programs. These achievements demonstrated my commitment to meeting educational standards and providing quality programs.

4. Student Recruitment and Counseling: I actively participated in exhibitions, organized roadshows, and engaged in student recruitment and counseling. 

5. Leadership and Student Retention Programs: I took an active role in organizing leadership and student retention programs, including outdoor recreational activities. These initiatives aimed to enhance student engagement, satisfaction, and overall retention rates.

6. Teaching and Lecturing: In addition to my administrative duties, I also lectured and taught core subjects in hotel management. I consistently performed requested duties beyond the expected requirements, maintaining high personal standards, and ensuring absolute satisfaction with the quality of my work.
