I came on as the founding PMM at Oncue, a Series-A startup serving moving company owners with an industry-specific CRM and white label booking service. 

I focused on: 
•Naming, re-positioning, and driving GTM for our core service offering, shifting our company position to move upmarket. 
•Determining and driving team-wide alignment on Oncue's ICP
•Overseeing and executing product and feature launches, building the foundations of our GTM process. 
•Driving a change in pricing strategy, increasing average customer MRR by 150%
•Building out sales enablement, re-building the demo experience and equipping the team to handle newfound objections as we moved up market.
•Building a new Product Newsletter to showcase product features and value to customers and prospects. 
•Shifting our service offering into the foreground of Oncue's marketing.

All of which resulted in our highest MRR quarter ever as a company and a 67% increase in customer LTV.

so they said we need to take them down or we'll be put in timeout. 

we confirmed the accuracy of the claims, stood our ground, and that copy is still on the page. 

anyway, just wanted to celebrate this moment with my network. couldn't have done it without you. ❤️

Gong Wrapped

This might be an unpopular PMM opinion (but it shouldn’t be): 

If you’re a product marketer, you should pitch regularly.

Pitch to a prospect.
Pitch to someone in a new market.
Pitch to a customer you want to upgrade or adopt a new feature.

It’s very easy to write messaging in a vacuum and get lost in the sauce.

Nothing will give you better, more clarifying feedback on your messaging than: 

1. Being the person to actually deliver that messaging, and
2. Watching a prospect or customer respond to that messaging in real time.

I’m not saying you need to be proficient at sales… but I am saying you should:
- be capable of pitching your product
- get first hand experience pitching to real customers and prospects
- and test your messaging in the context of a call.

A bonus is that it will keep your messaging from devolving into word salad. 

Prospects and customers aren’t going to resonate with “unlocking” , “supercharging” or whatever fluffy word we find ourselves reaching for… and a pitch will let you know that.

Since joining Sybill I've gotten the chance to pitch our product to a handful or prospects, and I've fired off countless loom demos. It's humbling, but crazy clarifying on what resonates and what doesn’t.

Yesterday was my first time reporting on marketing at the Sybill all hands (or any all hands for that matter)

Despite feeling a bit like a fraud, here's some cool stuff I got to share:

1. October was our highest traffic month ever. Up 51% from September (our second highest)

2. It was also our highest sign-up month ever, up 24% from September's record high. 

3. Pipeline? You guessed it. Highest ever. Massively influenced by our Manual Grind campaign (and 🫧 Olivia Wainhouse kicking ass at outbound)

And those numbers are cool. 

But my favorite thing to share came down to a not-totally-measurable sense that Sybill's brand awareness and mind share are growing. 

People are starting to know who we are and what we do, which is WHY the numbers are the way they are. 

We're just getting started. 💙

Last week we updated our pricing page at Sybill. Here’s the before, after, and what I changed. 👇 

The biggest problem with the old page is that it didn’t pass the glance test. 

You couldn’t skim and immediately know 1) what makes the plans different, and 2) which plan is for you. 

Here’s how I tried fixing that:

1. Hinting at plan types in the hero.

Instead of a value prop, I tried to make it crystal clear that you can sign up for Sybill on your own (PLG) or with a team. 

2. Clear, simple plan descriptions

I made sure the sub copy for every plan highlighted what made that plan different (e.g. with the Business plan, it’s now clear that you get CRM integration and customization)

I also trimmed down the # of check marks for simplicity. 

3. Ditching the very, very long feature table. 

Nobody likes endless check boxes.

So I added two new sections titled “What you get with every plan” and “What you get on the Business plan and above.” The feature tiles are way easier to skim than the mega table.

4. Adding a section on using Sybill to replace or alongside an existing call recorder. 

Sales teams have a tight grip on their call recorders, so communicating how we can replace or work with those tools is important. 

5. Added a section on different seat types. 

6. Finally, I added a Storylane demo to help all those nervous prospects along. 

I don’t see a lot of demos on pricing pages, but my thinking is that if someone is reading this far down a pricing page, they’re invested and might take the tour. 

An interactive demo might be that last nudge they need before they trial or book a demo. 

And that’s it! There are some other changes in there, but I’ll save those for the hyper-observant nerds. Let me know what you think!

Brand partnership • Product Marketing @ Sybill

It's no secret that Sybill competes with Gong.

We see a lot of customers who rip out Gong and replace it with Sybill. But we also see customers who want to layer Sybill over Gong. 

Which is why I built a Sybill + Gong page explaining:
- How orgs use Sybill and Gong together
- The Gong Gap (problems with using Gong alone)
- What you get when you lay Sybill over Gong.

Here's some of my thinking:

1. Answer the how in the hero.

How do customers use them together? TLDR: Keep Gong for recording and forecasting. Layer on Sybill for instant answers across all your calls and deals

2. Show both paths

I intentionally showed logos of customers who ripped + replaced Gong AND customers who layered Sybill over Gong. 

3. Show the Gong gap

I created a section laying out the problems with using Gong, namely: 
 -  Gong can't query across calls (they promise this is coming, but there's a difference between Sybill doing this for a year and Gong being fresh to the game)
- Gong is built for leaders, not reps day-to-day work
- Gong is a complex, bloated platform promising 100 disconnected agents. 

4. Build a usage grid

Instead of a feature war, the page shows where Gong stops and where Sybill begins in a usage grid. (E.g. Use Gong for aggregate forecasting, but use Sybill for spotting risks in an active deal)

5. Center it on Sybill's ability to answer questions

I added a section called "Questions Sybill answers that Gong can't". Gong is great at building dashboards, but it struggles answering straight forward questions like "What's happening in my top 10 deals?" or "Which competitors are coming up?" (shy of building one squillion alerts)

Sybill answers these questions in plain english. 

6. Prove it

The page features a video running the same query in Gong vs. running it Sybill, and the outputs speak for themselves.
