With a history in building robotics companies, I discovered they all had something special in common... great people.

So I revisited the fundamentals of recruiting and discovered something!

Thesis:
People don't hire resumes or cover letters, they hire people.

Seems simple right.. then how come Jobs ask you to submit a resume.. not say hello and introduce yourself?

Over the past 27 years, I landed my dream jobs, dealt with rejection and grew to start my own companies, building great teams with amazing people.

But then; at 32, reaching for the stars…
I screwed up & lost it all. - It’s truly humbling to be broke, over qualified and well, starting again.
So I went quiet, deep and took a 10 year approach on the biggest impact challenge - UseVerb.

At 45 emerging again as the US Video & AI Patent Holder, recognized in a few cool awards inc. 40 Under 40 Business News Awards, E&Y Young Entrepreneur of the Year and Young Engineer of the Year..

I'm a robotics engineer, with a weirdly wired brain, that's social technical. Left & right hemisphered. I polarize, entertain, irritate - some love me, others hate me - I simply give & share while executing on my plan.

• Received 100+ positive testimonials from patients by supporting them in taking their health to the next level.
• Generated $180K+ in revenue in six months despite Covid-19 restrictions from selling 10 Premier Programs and various Basic Level Programs, resulting in taking over the sales part of the clinic after one of the managers left.

Contributed research skills to 15-member Cardiac Voltage-Gated Channels Lab to study the structure and function of human heart voltage-gated K+ channels. 

• Recruited to troubleshoot, optimize, and complete the KCNQ1 Western Blots in less than one month after six months of the lab having no results, allowing the lab to finish a paper that had been waiting on the data.
• Boosted the performance of Proteinase K assay experiments used for measuring the ability of distinct Cardiac Potassium Channel mutants to traffic to the plasma membrane.
• Created enhanced strategies to facilitate all lab members performing patch clamping, DNA transfections, western blots, and immunocytochemistry by maintaining 20 cell culture lines and plated cells.

Research Assistant Anesthesiology, Pharmacology & Therapeutics

MD Anderson Cancer Center

Oversaw day-to-day operations and procedures for a Cancer Research Lab with 16 lab members. Conducted research focused on identifying mechanisms responsible for the development of cancers of the male genitourinary tract and female reproductive tract. 

• Directly administered lecturing and training for laboratory group members to coordinate and implement an all-encompassing DNA inventory system, which I had also designed.
• Ensured optimal lab operations and alignment with regulations by crafting, disseminating, and enforcing IACUC (Animal Care and Use) protocols and familiarized lab personnel with lab animal standard operating procedures.
• Managed multiple complex laboratory and experimental processes in various areas, including small animal water consumption to study cancer mutations and progression, plasmid DNA manipulations such as purification, PCR, restriction digest, ligation, DNA isolation from cell culture and bacterial lysates, and plasmid DNA sequencing, maintaining 10 different cell lines for cell signaling experiments.

Selected as Guest Speaker for the University of Texas at Austin Teaching Assistant Workshops, delivering three one-hour presentations on “Grading in Natural Sciences.” Collaborated with faculty and department leaders to identify training needs for current graduate assistants and incorporated current educational best practices. 

• Invited to be a part of the organizing committee for the University of Texas’ TA workshops, planning talks, titles, and speakers to promote professional development opportunities for colleagues.
