I dropped out of university to travel solo through Asia, then went back to finish what I started. Along the way, I worked, built small businesses (I shopped for execs before internet shopping was even a thing and taught spinning classes), paid my way, and learned how im😁portant it is to take responsibility for your actions.

I went on to build a career in tech (even worked for South Africa's first Facebook Marketing Partner, I mean Meta), while studying psychology and later earning a counselling degree. 

I’ve spoken to global brands about resilience, written for international publications (including Oprah), and even scaled a Whale (check out www.usewhale.io). I even upped and moved to a country where I didn't speak the language and have always chased the impossible.

In the UK, being a very small team of 5, what I do on a daily basis is a lot more hands-on.
I’m in charge of making sure everything we create is carrying the Airtasker touch and quality both from a visual + brand perspective.

To this day, I’ve worked on:
- Creating strong visual concepts to establish our social media presence prior to and after launch.
- Found reliable partners to work with in the UK from a merchandising, print and audiovisual point of view.
- Have worked hand-in-hand with HQ to flesh out our new photography guidelines.
- Have organised and designed “care packs” we sent out to high-profile journalists.
- Am working on “Tasker Portraits”: photoshoots I’m organising to get to know the people making our community in order to tell their stories.

Brand Design Manager

When joining Airtasker in Sydney, I started off working within a unified design team and tackled a variety of projects that were sitting on both the product and brand side of things. With the team growing rapidly, I initiated and worked closely with the VP of Design on establishing design processes and creating a strong design culture that would be extremely valuable for the whole design team moving forward. After a few months, we created the Brand Team, a team focusing purely on everything brand related: from icons, to illustrations through to landing pages, merchandising, photography, videography, ATL marketing, but also Product Marketing initiatives (for/with product teams) or internal initiatives (supporting the People Operations team etc). During my time in the Sydney office, I led all aspects of design for the Brand Team, working closely with extremely talented folks (designers, illustrator and copywriters) on pushing the boundaries and the quality of design for the company whilst helping them grow on a professional and personal level as much as possible. I also initiated and worked on what was going to become our Design Language (for web), re-designed the Blog and the Homepage, created a brand new set of 50+ icons (for use in the product), created/designed a flexible extension of our branding for what is now known as the Airtasker Community Summit (+ all collateral) and everything in-between.
