Accountable for the relationship and strategic alignment between IT and Heads of Department and Team Managers in HR, Finance, Procurement, Legal and also the IT department itself. Taking end-to-end accountability for all IT matters relating to these business areas.

Business Services Manager (interim)

Accountable for the IT department’s strategic relationship with business areas and all new solutions/change development activities to core business systems and ancillary integrated software/services, incl. operational governance and management of related risk and compliance activities.  Responsible for providing thought-leadership and working in partnership with senior executives to shape strategic change roadmaps.  Responsible for leading internal IT teams and external partners to deliver IT change programmes/projects using Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies.  Staff: 30 (5 direct reports), budget: circa £8m pa (Capex).

•	Established and grew function to plan and deliver significantly increased IT change portfolio – Business Partners, Business Analysts, IT PMO, Project Managers, Systems Analyst Developers and Trainers.
•	Developed and implemented core business systems strategy aligned to group strategy goals.

Accountable for the IT function’s engagement with directors and senior management teams in the UK based commercial/customer facing business units.  Responsible for translating business strategies into IT investment programmes and roadmaps, delivering associated technology solutions and ensuring change management plans in place to realise business value from technology related investments.  Additionally, accountable for lifecycle management of IT solutions/services and developing business maturity in understanding, adopting and leveraging value from technology.

•	As programme board IT member, responsible for shaping ‘Single View of Customer’ business transformation programme and delivering associated IT projects to scope, on time and within budget (£4m Capex).
• Initiated and led supplier engagement to successfully deliver a leading edge Customer Contact handling managed service (providing dual-site capability and enabling customer segmented business operating model) in very challenging timescales and under budget.
• Led business analysis, stakeholder engagement and implementation of IT desktop services refresh programme for my business areas, including an IT application rationalisation project which resulted in a 98% reduction of the estate (from ~5,000 to <100).
• Driving adoption of MS Lync, Office 365 and other cloud based services and assisting my business areas to leverage business value through their use both internally and with customers.
• Managed successful delivery of various business improvement projects (IT integration of acquired businesses, office relocations, Offline CRM Sales solution, corporate WiFi service).
• Instigated governance and processes for managing demand and delivery of smaller scale business improvement technology developments.

West Sussex County Council

Accountable for strategic customer relationship with 290 schools, managing IT government grants allocations and suppliers associated with delivering IT services to schools.  Responsible for shaping and managing provision and performance of schools’ IT services.  Budget: ~£4m pa (Capex & Opex).

•	Instigated and led strategic governance and service performance management forums for the council’s schools’ IT support services and delivered review/renewal of IT support services SLAs with 290 schools.
•	Led delivery of West Sussex schools IT services projects (internet services infrastructure refresh and SIMS Learning Gateway online parental reporting), on time and within budget.

IT Business Relationship Manager

BAA Plc (now Heathrow Airports Holding Ltd)

Promotion to newly created role, accountable for managing strategic investment in IT across the company.  Responsible for governance, processes and reporting around overall IT investment portfolio and delivery of the IT infrastructure investment plan.  Staff: 3, budget: ~£160m pa (Capex), ~£60m pa (Opex).

•	Led an IT investment and services demand initiative to reduce the company’s associated operating costs, delivering double required savings totalling £10m pa Capex and £4m pa Opex.
•	Forum guardian for IT Investment Board, setting strategic direction of IT investment programmes.
•	Managing the governance and auditing of the company’s overall IT related business risks.

IT Investment Business Performance Manager

Promotion to role responsible for managing an IT Investment team supporting Investment Managers in engaging corporate functions.  Staff: 3, budget: ~£25m pa (Capex), ~£17m pa (Opex).

•	Delivered successful outcome from an IT investment/service costs regulatory review audit undertaken by KPMG on behalf of the airports’ regulator – delivering a favourable 5-year airline RPI charging formula and externally recognising BAA as leaders in best practice IT investment governance and management.
•	Became a mentor and coach for staff on the annual IT Personal Awareness Programme; subsequently asked to support delivery of a culture/behavioural change element of an IT organisational restructure.
•	Developed and delivered a company-wide development programme to enhance business sponsors’ capabilities and engagement and improve delivery of IT investment related projects.
•	Instigated and managed central IT investment performance review governance and processes, resulting in improved benefits delivery from investments in IT within the company.

IT Investment Support Team Leader

Responsible for managing and developing a team delivering account management services and driving engagement between the IT function and airport.

•  Managed IT services change workstream of an airline relocation programme.
•  Implemented a facial image capture solution for use at boarding card check points, protecting £9m pa of retail income and enabling further business growth at Gatwick Airport.
•  Managed implementation of a desktop environment refresh programme for Gatwick Airport.

IT Interface Manager Team Leader

Responsible for delivering account management services and driving engagement between the IT function and airports.

• Delivered IT risk management and business continuity programme, resulting in financially viable, business prioritised IT system refresh programmes at Gatwick and Stansted airports.
• Introduced best practice account management and reporting processes to consolidate IT business strategies and account plans and support effective knowledge sharing across the company.

IT Interface Manager (Gatwick & Stansted)

Responsible for managing IT business strategies, investment plans, maintenance/support plans and developing business cases for Heathrow Airport Terminals 2 and 3.  Staff responsibility: 1, budget: ~£3m pa (capex), ~£0.5m pa (opex).

• Managed the development and implementation of the company’s year 2000 IT remediation programme and implemented appropriate business contingency plans, for my business units.
• Improved business performance and reduced operating costs through leading business process changes, in conjunction with delivering required supporting IT solutions across Heathrow Airport.

Business Unit IT Account Manager

Responsible for providing technical engineering consultancy expertise to support delivery of core engineering systems projects across BAA’s airports.

• Supported the design, testing and deployment of engineering controls and IT software elements of Baggage Handling systems and Hold Baggage Screening systems.
• Implemented airfield incident emergency services telecoms system.

Electronic Systems Engineer
