I earned a reputation as Austin's leading resource for customized, high quality referrals to top notch freelancers, consultants, speakers & other experts. This is also where I began my consulting, speaking and training work in earnest.  The big questions I was frequently asked was:  "How do I stand above the crowd and get hired?"  "What can I do to earn more business and build my reputation?"  "How do I launch my career or business and be more successful?" I answered many of those questions with the publication of my award-winning book The Intentional Networker: Attracting Powerful Relationships, Referrals & Results in Business.

I spent three years serving on the Chapter Leadership Committee of the National Speakers Association. This team is a juried group of past chapter presidents who serve as advisors and coaches to local NSA chapter presidents and president-elects. I was assigned to the  Washington DC and New Orleans chapters. I also helped develop and deliver a consistent training curriculum for NSA's  Chapter Leadership Institute, a three-day leadership training retreat for incoming chapter presidents and board members. This event is  held each November at NSA headquarters in Tempe, AZ.

On the local level, I was part of the Founding Board of the NSA Austin chapter and served as its Membership Chair for two years and chapter president two years. I was named Chapter Member of the Year in 2014.

I worked with many pioneering companies in the high tech industry (think microcomputers, touch screens, and what is now known and 3-D printing...) but also took on clients in healthcare, communications, non-profit, finance, aviation, and many other industries. I teamed up with some of the best communications and creative talent in the Austin area and produced a huge body of work that ranged from snappy taglines and marketing pieces to case studies and technical papers.
