Everyone’s a strategist. A coach. A founder.

This changes everything about how we create and consume content.

Content has split into 2 categories:

PARROTS (everywhere):

- Share what they've read, not what they've done
- Can sound convincing (especially with AI)
- Create hollow content that rarely transforms

PRACTITIONERS (rare):

- Share insights earned through experience
- Have navigated the complexities firsthand
- Understand the nuances that theories miss
- Create content that actually drives change

In an AI world, information is nothing without implementation.

Your experience is scarce and valuable.

This creates unique problems and opportunities:

Problem:

Our feeds are flooding with hollow expertise that sounds convincing but lacks the depth of practice.

Opportunity:

Practitioners who share genuine insights stand out dramatically in this environment.

This is why I'm obsessed with creating systems that capture real expertise.

Content before vs. after AI

I look under my posts every day with sadness.

At least 80% of the replies are AI.

I took a few weeks off LinkedIn and it was critical for perspective.

Why was I replying to AI comments before???

I love this platform and the people, but comparatively speaking, the bar of content quality is still very low.

Not firing shots - this is a great opportunity for anybody with a genuine opinion, real experience, or interesting takes to dominate here.

Please stop using AI to write comments.

Everybody can see it. We all know who you are.

It's damaging your reputation and that's your greatest asset.

I had a crazy realisation recently…

Nothing I do for work is “real.”

On the one hand, that freaks me out a little.

But on the other hand… how incredible is that? I feel immense gratitude for the world we live in today.

When I lost my job 7 years ago, I decided to go self-employed.

My goal was simple: do great work with great people for great clients.

There’s a new AI tool every week right now, flipping our futures upside down. The noise might get louder, and the distractions may multiply.

But my goal will always stay the same.

Great work. Great people. Great clients.

100 days ago, we started our first personal branding cohort.

Stop writing for the algorithm. Start writing for humans.

We've become obsessed with pleasing the algorithm.

Chasing metrics instead of moments. Optimising for machines, not minds.

But the algorithm doesn't care about your story.

It doesn't feel your passion. It doesn't value your voice.

Humans do.

And here's what most people forget:

You're not writing to thousands. You're writing to one person, thousands of times.

There's never a crowd reading your post. It's one person, on their phone, deciding if you're worth their attention.

When you write for algorithms:
- Your messages sound like everyone else's
- Your uniqueness gets diluted
- You blend into the noise

When you write for humans:
- Your real voice comes through
- Your connections become real
- People follow you for who you are

The algorithm will change tomorrow.

The platforms will change next quarter.

But human psychology remains constant.

And the best part?

When you stop chasing the algorithm and start serving humans, the algorithm often rewards you anyway.

Because platforms ultimately want what humans want: content that matters.

Write for one person. The rest will follow.

Impatience isn't always a flaw.

Sometimes it's just a sign of standards.

Recently, I heard a distinction I can't stop thinking about:

Micro impatience vs. Macro patience.

Micro impatience is refusing to settle when you know there's another level inside of you.

It's the frustration of seeing the gap between where you are and where you could be - and not wanting to wait to close it.

Some of the most successful people I know are deeply micro-impatient:

- They're annoyed when their own progress is slow
- They don't accept "good enough" because they can see "great"
- They push harder because their own standards demand it

Over time, those 1% improvements compound into something exceptional.

But there's a second half to this: Macro patience.

Macro patience is being able to zoom out.

Macro patience is trusting that meaningful growth compounds slowly and invisibly before it becomes obvious.

Micro impatience without macro patience = burnout

Macro patience without micro impatience = mediocrity

Both are required and both give perspective.

On a personal note, in 2021 I went through a severe period of burnout which was the worst year of my life. I lost my full-time job from the pandemic and put everything into starting Amplify. I flew out the gates building a business around my passion for content creation, but nobody can sprint forever.

The result was damaged relationships, my first run-in with my mental health difficulties and any 'progress' I had made in those initial first business quarters was soon washed away. For months I didn't feel myself, I lost enjoyment in my work, and I couldn't make progress. I was stuck.

I share this because, as a creator and founder, I know how important it is to have a great team around you and to systematise your content growth so that you can focus on what truly matters. Your content has to be a flywheel that is working for you and it's essential to have a strategy up-to-date with what's working TODAY.

This is Jerry. He’d been laid off 3 times in 3 years.

Let’s talk about The Subtle Art of Course Correction.

It's about this time of the year when our new habits melt away.

Your Version 2026 did well for January, but the old habits creep in.

Here's my own example: in January I went to the gym 22 times.

That was more than Oct-Dec combined but now Old Joe has come up for air. I sprained my wrist and I haven’t worked out in 3 days.

Last year: “This is the start of the end”

Now: “Wow, what an opportunity to prove how I've changed!”

Think back to the last time you were on a plane ✈️

To my knowledge, the pilot doesn't click a button and the plane goes from A-B in a straight line.

1. A route is set with intention
2. Along the way sh*t happens
3. The pilot course corrects so you arrive on time

(and to ensure no compensation is paid 🤣)

This mindset of course correction has already had a huge impact on me.

Everything is fine. The world is still spinning.

All it takes is just one positive step to get back on track.

I’ve spent the last 7 years building personal brands.

And I’ve noticed the top 1% all have 7 things:

1. Mindset
2. Positioning
3. Systems
4. Consistency 
5. Leverage
6. Performance
7. Community

Having all 7 is what separates them from everyone else.

The Personal Brand Roadmap - Join The Waitlist 

I hit publish on our biggest launch.

But I made a massive mistake.

Last year, I launched 3 things at once:
- A new self-paced course
- A new live cohort
- A new community

ALL ON ONE LANDING PAGE

They all connected beautifully and let people choose the best option for them. It made sense to me...

And actually everyone I spoke to - colleagues, friends, creator friends - they all said: "Yeah Joe, you can do all these things - this is great."

But the second we went live with the website and I started talking to people, I realised we’d confused people.

It’s like writing a book for a whole year. You think it’s perfect. Then someone reads it and spots the problems immediately.

This really reminded me that:

Just because you CAN do multiple things doesn't mean you SHOULD.

We think doing more = working harder.

But doing more didn’t make the launch stronger. It diluted everything. In fact, doing one thing exceptionally well is the hardest thing of all.

It's better to be world-class at one thing than average in many.

Less is more. Always.

It's not. You become a bottleneck.

The best things I've ever produced happened when I stopped trying to control everything and started trusting people to own their piece.

This month has proved that.

The team were in their zone of genius. The mentality across the team has been "I'll figure it out" and it's been amazing to see.

It’s going to be insane 🤯

The most damaging lie about personal branding:

”It only pays off long-term.”

Gurus love saying this. Yes, personal branding is a long-term game and becomes a career skill for life.

BUT I actually think the most fruitful stage of your online personal brand is 0→1.

When you go from not posting to posting, it’s like turning a fire hose on. 

I've seen it happen dozens of times with people we've worked with:

- Old colleagues begin reaching out
- Former bosses get back in touch
- Virtual calls get booked
- You make new friends
- Leads start trickling in

Because you’re now visible. 

You’re putting your hand up. You’re coming online. And once you start sharing with the world, you get feedback. 

That feedback creates a loop. You see a response, you get a quick win and suddenly it becomes tangible. 

You want to keep going because you can feel the benefit.

Of course, you’re building an asset for the long term. But the idea that the payoff ONLY comes later is wrong.

For a lot of people, the biggest shift happens right at the start.
