Then I spent 3 years learning how to write online, turned it into a repeatable system, and how to turn that attention into sales calls and inbound leads.

“But posting content every day is hard”

I ran a content challenge for my clients over the past few weeks.

Some messages I’ve had:

→ “This challenge has been awesome can’t lie”
→ “It was EXTREMELY easy to come up with it once I had the prompt”
→ “I’m on fire this evening and I’ve literally been writing for about 30 minutes”
→ It came naturally, it doesn’t feel forced or salesy at all - I like it”
→ Timeless Content is GOLD”
→ “It was really good, really simple to write because it was more about the mission”

And my fave ↓

“I've had at least 5 people tell me that my posts really resonated with them and instantly made them connect with me so it's gooood!!”

I didn’t do it because they needed help writing. All of them can write really well.

It was direction they needed.

There are 1,000s of content ideas out there. And your brain easily gets overwhelmed when you try to think of them all.

But limit your thinking to:

→ 9 Principles
→ A handful of angles for each
→ A structure to use each time

You get words on a page a lot quicker (and get buyers to see you). 

Remember: Resonance is the way forwards. Not reach.

Focus on resonating with the right people = your content will do its job well.

If you want to sign clients, stop trying to impress them when you talk to them. 

Do this: 

Every single person I meet online, I treat as if they’re an old friend.

Not a stranger.

Most people are scared to get into conversations. Because their gut is telling them:

→ “You need to impress them”
→ “You’ve got to sound/look your best”
→ “You have to deliver some great value here”

And yet all the other person wants is for you to show up and be someone they want to talk to.

Which 99 times out of 100 is just being yourself.

Which means this happens:

→ Their guard drops (because they don’t feel awkward)
→ The conversation flows more easily
→ If it aligns well, an offer feels natural

You get a better feel for working with them from the conversation.
They get a better feel of working with you by how you are.

If both align and it feels natural, the next step is obvious.

(And it’s WAY more fun to make friends than just try and sell all the time)

In 4 years, I’ve written 1,100+ posts for myself. 

…and helped 50+ clients to build their business here too.

So to help you, here’s every best lesson I’ve learned about writing online (so you can get clients too): 

1/ Attention first. Always. No one buys from posts they don’t read.

2/ A bad post with a good hook beats a good post with a bad hook.

3/ Forget vanity metrics as the goal. It’s a bonus. Revenue > reach.

4/ Going viral is a bonus. Conversions are the objective.

5/ Every post should move people somewhere → belief, action, inbox, email list.

6/ 90% of your posts should have a CTA. Direction = momentum.

7/ Sell yourself as much as your offer. People buy trust before they buy products.

8/ Call out your ICP directly. Specificity makes people feel seen.

9/ Clear beats clever. Every time. EVERY time. 

10/ Position yourself in your content so people think “I need to learn from them”.

11/ Playing it safe is risky. Strong opinions attract strong buyers.

12/ If someone can disagree with you, it means the right ones can agree. 

13/ Repeat your best ideas frequently. Most people didn’t see it the first time.

14/ Name your frameworks and ideas + talk about them. Familiarity builds authority.

15/ Trends get views. Depth builds trust.

16/ 3-4 good posts per week is more than enough to get clients.

17/ Don’t post for the sake of consistency. Post for some shift/outcome to happen.

18/ Move people from platforms you rent to platforms you own (like email).

19/ The human side of your content builds relationships (and sales).

20/ Build a world around your content so people want to learn more from you. 

21/ Don’t chase trends. Buyers care about clarity, not choreography.

22/ Your perspective is far more profitable than “perfection”.

23/ You don’t need permission to share your thinking. 

24/ You can’t build with 0 impressions. But 1,000,000 isn’t the minimum. 

And my favourite one: 

25/ Literally nobody on this planet expects you to write perfectly, or have everything figured out. Now more than ever. And that is the most magnetic, attractive thing for leads right now. A real person who’s sharing ideas and thoughts regardless of what “trends” say to do. Far better. 

I could go on. But my brain is tired. 

So a final question for you: 

If someone read the last 90 days of your content, would they know how you help? What you stand for? Who you are? Where to go next? 

That’s the whole point right there. 

Not the likes.

I’ve always hated being on video.

Yet I’m doing a lot more of them in 2026. Simple reason:

1/ I want more people to see me in action, not just how I write about it
2/ People are more skeptical about AI, and video can’t be faked
3/ Sometimes concepts need to be explained in deeper detail

What’s beautiful is right now, the more ‘raw’ the better.

No editing = no chance of “fake”.
No cuts = nothing being hidden.

Clients don’t get on a coaching call and expect you to present perfectly.

They expect stumbled words. Thinking pauses. Ums and ahs.

So I’m doing a lot more mini videos to show that side of the business too. Which means:

1/ The right clients get a feel for my coaching style before we meet
2/ People spend more time watching videos > reading a post
3/ I don’t have to worry about “perfection”, I just hit record

I won’t lie, it feels good to just create and put things out there for those who it helps.

But it's also a great way for business right now.

I sat in a Starbucks yesterday, watching a guy pitch his services to a potential client.


For 40 minutes straight, he talked about his process.

His framework. 
His methodology. 
His 7-step system. 

The client nodded politely, checked her phone twice, and said "let me think about it."

I've seen this movie before. 

Hell, I starred in it for a long time in my career.

You know what nobody tells you when you're building a business?

People don't buy how you do it. They buy what happens after you do it.

BAD: "I use a proven 5-phase content strategy that includes audience research, competitive analysis, content pillar development, strategic distribution, and performance optimization."

GOOD: "Six months from now, you'll have a waitlist of dream clients who found you through LinkedIn, ready to pay premium rates, while you're spending less time chasing leads and more time choosing who you want to work with."

See the difference?

Every day on LinkedIn, I see incredibly talented people giving away their entire playbook for free.

"My exact framework for..."
"The methodology I use to..."
"Here's my 10-step process for..."

And they wonder why they're not converting.
You're teaching people to fish when they want to buy fish.
Actually, scratch that. They don't even want to buy fish. They want to not be hungry anymore.

Your prospects can Google "how to write a LinkedIn post" and get 47 million results. 

What they can't get from Google is the feeling of being seen, understood, and guided to the other side of their problem.

1. Not "I'll help you build a content system" → "Imagine waking up to qualified leads in your inbox without spending a single dollar on ads."

2. Not "I teach productivity frameworks" → "Picture closing your laptop at 4pm every day, knowing you accomplished more than you used to in 12-hour days."

3. Not "I offer career coaching" → "Six months from now, you're telling your boss 'no' because you've got three better offers on the table."

Feel how different those are?

Give them the after. They'll pay you for the how.

He thought LinkedIn would never work for him. 



We were on Zoom. He'd just shown me 4 months of content. Every post polished. Every caption thoughtful. Zero clients.

"I've done everything they said to do," he said. "I'm posting 4 times a week. My engagement is up. And I can't pay my rent."

I asked him one question:

"Show me the last five conversations you had with people who actually hired you."

Executive coach. 20 years in leadership. Legit transformation stories. The kind of person who should be booked solid.

I made him pull up his CRM.

"Read me the first message from the last three people who became clients."

I said: "Now read me your last ten post headlines."

Not a single post that would make those three people stop scrolling and think "holy shit, this person gets me."

We pulled the questions people asked before they hired him.

- Every discovery call recording
- Every intake form
- Every "what made you reach out?" answer
- Every DM that led to a booking

The first post using this approach got 83 likes.

His thought leadership posts were averaging 400+.
He panicked. "Should we go back to the old way?"

I said: "Check your DMs."

Eleven messages. Four from VPs at Fortune 500 companies. Seven requested discovery calls.

Within 60 days:

4 new clients signed
$180K in revenue
Two more in pipeline

And here's the part that made him laugh-cry: his engagement went down overall

But his bank account went up. LOL. 

P.S. — The irony? This post will probably get less engagement than my "thought leadership" posts. But it'll get the right DMs. And that's the whole point :D

"Cold outreach doesn't work".
"LinkedIn doesn't work."
"X doesn't work".

Yes none of it will work for you if you keep blaming luck, the algo or whatever.

I have a friend pulling $80K in MRR from X. 
Another doing $120K from cold email. 
Another who signed 5 clients 6 weeks into LinkedIn.

None of these platforms "work" or "don't work."

They work for people who actually understand what they're doing.

Someone says "I posted for 6 weeks and didn't get clients."

Cool. Did you:

1. Talk to the right people about the right problem?
2. Actually offer something people want?
3. Build any trust before asking for the sale?
4. Say anything different from the 47 other people in your space?

Or did you just copy a template, post at the "optimal time," use the trending hooks, and wonder why nothing happened?

I'm watching people blame algorithms for problems that have nothing to do with algorithms.

Your content isn't failing because of reach.

It's failing because it doesn't make anyone feel anything or do anything.

You're not losing to the platform. 

You're losing to the person in your industry who actually figured out how to communicate value.

The platforms that "work":

The ones where you show up like a human who solves real problems for real people, not a content robot repeating LinkedIn advice about LinkedIn.

That's it. 

LinkedIn works if you make it work.
Cold email works if you make it work.
X works if you make it work.

And if none of them work for you? The common variable isn't the platform.

It's you.

Fix that first. Then pick your channel.

You are posting daily. Getting 300+ likes.

But clients? 0. Revenue? 0.


And I bet, it's because you are living in either of these 3 problems. 

1. THE AUDIENCE PROBLEM

You're talking to the right people in the wrong place, or the wrong people in the right place.

Ask yourself these questions honestly:

→ When you imagine your ideal client, can you describe their Tuesday at 2pm? What are they stressed about? What tab is open on their browser that they keep closing out of guilt?

→ Look at your last 20 post comment sections. Are the people engaging actually people who could hire you, or are they peers, competitors, and other coaches?

→ When someone does reach out, does it tend to be "I love your content" or "I think I need your help"?

If you're getting engagement but zero commercial conversations, your audience is probably wrong.

2. THE MESSAGE PROBLEM

You're talking to the right people, but saying the wrong thing in the wrong way.

Ask yourself:

→ If I pulled a random person off the street and showed them your last five posts, could they tell me in one sentence exactly who you help and what you do for them?

→ Are you describing your work in the language of your process or the language of your client's pain?

→ Does your profile, your content, and your DMs all tell the same story - or does your profile say one thing, your content say another, and your pitch say a third?

Write the way you talk when you're explaining what you do to someone at a dinner party who's had two glasses of wine and zero patience for corporate speak.

That's your message.

3. THE OFFER PROBLEM

You're talking to the right people, saying the right things, but what you're selling doesn't make them lean forward.

This is the one nobody wants to hear because it means the work goes deepest.

→ When you tell someone what you offer and how much it costs, does their response feel like relief or hesitation?

→ Is there a gap between what people tell you they love about your content and what you're actually selling?

→ Have you had people say "this is amazing, I'll definitely reach out when the timing is right" for more than six months?


I want you to answer these three questions in writing. Not in your head. On paper.

1. Can you describe your ideal buyer's worst Tuesday in three sentences or less?
2. If your content disappeared tomorrow, would the people who'd miss it most be your buyers or your peers?
3. When your best client hired you, what was the first thing they said when you asked "what made you decide to reach out?"

Those three answers will tell you which room you're standing in.

And once you know the room, the fix becomes obvious.

I've talked with 50+ CEOs and CMOs in the last 90 days.

And I noticed something weird.

More than half of them have zero personal presence on LinkedIn.

They say:

- "Our company brand is strong enough."
- "We don't have time for that stuff."
- "I'm not really a 'content person.'"
- "What would I even post about?"

Fair. I get it.

Here's what's happening to them though:

1. They're paying $15K-$40K/month for lead gen that's getting progressively worse
2. Their sales team is cold calling and getting 2-3% response rates
3. They're losing deals to competitors they've never heard of
4. When they do get inbound, it's price shoppers who found them on Google


Now the other group. The ones with an actual presence.

1. Gets 4-6 qualified partnership inquiries per month. Closed $340K in partnerships last quarter that came directly from their content. Didn't pay a dollar for any of it.

2. Speaking at 3 conferences this year he didn't apply to. They reached out to him. His company's sales cycle dropped from 6 months to 3.5 months because prospects already trust him before the first call.

3. Hired his last two executives from people who followed his content. Saved $60K in recruiter fees. Both of them took lower salaries because they "wanted to work for him specifically."


The difference isn't that one group is better at business.

The difference is that one group realized something the other hasn't yet:

When people know you, hear your thinking, see how you operate, they're not buying from a company anymore.
They're buying from someone they already feel like they know.

Look, I'm not saying personal branding solves everything.

But I am saying I've never met a CEO with a real presence who regretted building it.


So what's actually stopping you?

Because it's probably not time. It's probably not "I don't know what to post."

It's probably that you haven't seen the cost of staying invisible clearly enough yet.

The good news? Your competitors haven't figured this out either.
The bad news? One of them will. Probably soon.
