The free program aims to support early-stage startups to grow their business and network and develop a commercially and technically feasible product over the course of ten weeks. Eight startup teams will be selected by BW Ventures and WeWork Labs (www.wework.com/labs). The program is free of charge.

Who Am I?
My journey as an entrepreneur started at the age of 19, beginning in the music industry. After receiving multiple questionable record deals, I decided I could do better and launched my first company.

Experiencing the trouble of being an entrepreneur, I learned that the way we teach entrepreneurship and help early-stage corporate ventures was not the most efficient way. We are handling corporate ventures as smaller versions of more prominent companies, which leads to the wrong activities and investments, literally destroying time and capital. 

This is why I started BW Ventures 6 years ago. I could do better. We’ve helped over 200 startups in their quest to find a durable and scalable business model. By helping with a structured, customer-centric process, that helps them figure out why, how, and what they do. 

Even after finding a commercially feasible model, corporate ventures are still struggling to find their first investment to launch version 1.0 of their product.

In those impressionable years, before the concept of "career," colored by idyllic innocence and the heyday of Nickelodeon, I grew up on the family farm, dreaming, yearning and living just south of that great American snow town the world calls, "Buffalo, NY."

As far as what came next, my adventure into advertising that is, there's a lot to confess.
 
I'm no Ad School grad. Nor did I earn my first wrinkle as an intern for Wieden+Kennedy, or become a modern-day Adman at some big agency like so many post-university (sorry to disappoint).

But for better or worse, probably thanks to that sneakily closeted optimism lurking in us all, I've always held onto this terribly silly little fantasy, that one day, if the world doesn't come to a suddenly shocking end, I'd like to succumb to this life of rough drafts and rewrites and maybe in someway, through some irrevocable stroke of the pen, help a brand build something humanity can actually feel good about.

My very first draft landed me on the right path: as a one-man marketing department for a 17 person company in Farragut Square, Washington DC.

Today?

I'm writing my terribly silly little fantasy into reality, copywriting and strategizing on Fortune 100 brand marketing teams, while volunteering with social enterprises on my own time.
