The free program aims to support early-stage startups to grow their business and network and develop a commercially and technically feasible product over the course of ten weeks. Eight startup teams will be selected by BW Ventures and WeWork Labs (www.wework.com/labs). The program is free of charge.

Who Am I?
My journey as an entrepreneur started at the age of 19, beginning in the music industry. After receiving multiple questionable record deals, I decided I could do better and launched my first company.

Experiencing the trouble of being an entrepreneur, I learned that the way we teach entrepreneurship and help early-stage corporate ventures was not the most efficient way. We are handling corporate ventures as smaller versions of more prominent companies, which leads to the wrong activities and investments, literally destroying time and capital. 

This is why I started BW Ventures 6 years ago. I could do better. We’ve helped over 200 startups in their quest to find a durable and scalable business model. By helping with a structured, customer-centric process, that helps them figure out why, how, and what they do. 

Even after finding a commercially feasible model, corporate ventures are still struggling to find their first investment to launch version 1.0 of their product.

Als ontwerper in de zorg ben ik actief op ontwerp-, transitie-, transformatie- en verandervraagstukken in de zorg. Ik geloof dat wanneer we de vraag achter de vraag vinden, zodra we weten wat de behoefte écht is van een zorgvrager, zorgprofessional, mantelzorger of een andere stakeholder in de zorg, dat we dan op andere zorgconcepten en andere oplossingen uit komen. Zorg, de maatschappij en ons leven verandert. Dat vraagt een andere kijk op zorg en maatschappelijke vraagstukken die relevant zijn voor zorgvraagstukken. Het huidige zorglandschap is niet houdbaar.
Als ontwerper doe ik onderzoek naar behoeften, de vraag en het probleem. Dit proces wordt ingevuld sámen met de zorgvrager, zorgverlener en andere stakeholders. Ik geloof namelijk dat we niet zonder elkaars inzichten kunnen om tot de kern te komen. Vervolgens worden hier oplossingsrichtingen en concepten op ontwikkeld. Hierbij wordt telkens iteratief samengewerkt met alle stakeholders. Een concept kan vervolgens getest en/of geïmplementeerd worden in het geheel. Ik ben actief in de rollen van ontwerper, workshopbegeleider, projectleider en programmamanager. In elk van deze rollen is er een vraag voor verandering in zorg en/of maatschappelijke vraagstukken.

Als trainer ben ik actief op de onderwerpen innovatie, digitalisering en zorgtechnologie in de zorg.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               Al van jongs af aan ben ik nieuwsgierig en stelde ik veel vragen: hoe kan iets nòg beter en is dit wel de beste oplossing? 
Tijdens de opleiding tot Industrieel Product Ontwerper had ik al snel de focus naar de gezondheidszorg gevonden. Ik merkte daarbij dat écht luisteren en de vraag vertalen naar een bruikbaar product van grote waarde is. Met een product bedoel ik trouwens niet enkel fysieke producten maar ook diensten en services. Ik merkte namelijk al snel dat de zorg niet alleen behoefte heeft aan slimme oplossingen in de vorm van fysieke producten, maar dat een andere manier van denken en kijken naar de wereld van nu en de toekomst heel waardevol is. Zowel de zorgvrager als zorgverlener voorzien van een oplossing die helpt bij het bieden van de juiste zorg, dat is wat ik het allerliefst doe. Hierbij ben ik graag in contact met de gebruiker, doe ik onderzoek naar de vraag en kom daarbij met een passende oplossing. 

Hierbij gaat het vooral over doen, actie, mensen spreken, vertalingen maken en zorgen dat er iets bedacht wordt waar je morgen mee aan de slag kan.
