As a Chief Revenue Officer, I operated 25+ B2B AI, SaaS and traditional companies in more than 20 industries. I've felt firsthand how building modern, leading revenue systems became a very complex given. A bit like building a house. Everything became so complex. As Innovation Lead, I'm responsible within the Professional Services department, to increase efficiency within projects by defining and aligning innovative processes and tools.
Within this role, I leverage DevOps within the company to a new level, maturing the whole delivery pipeline at the same time.

Technical Solution Architect/Innovation Lead

A new aspect of my current role involves doing performance assessments and health checks with our AX customers. During these assessments, best practices will be checked against SQL, Servers, AX Configuration and AX coding. Some of these assessments are focussed on individual performance bottlenecks indicated by customers (e.g. slow performance of a screen), whilst others are more focussed on the overal performance and best practice (deviations) of the system.

After each PA (Performance assessment), a report is delivered containing an executive summary, findings, and recommendations. Depending on the focus of the PA, this report may contain actual measurements and improvements if the focus is on one or more individual topics, or overall recommendations if the focus is on the overall performance.

Dynamics AX Performance Assessments

From this year, I am involved in doing on-site quality audits of partner/customer implementations.
During such an audit, I try to determine:
- Upgradeability issues
- Over-customisation
- Alignment with the standard MECOMS™ product
- Design approach
- Design gaps
- Project methodology
- ...

A quality audit is never a standalone audit. Each project phase has a dedicated QA, to make sure issues are found (and resolved) in a timely fashion.
After each quality audit, a report is created (the QA Report), describing the risks found, and how to mitigate these.

MECOMS™ Auditor

As an expert consultant, I'm sent abroad to different projects to try to transfer as much knowledge as possible to the customer/partner, and/or assisting in high-level design, for a short period.

  Explaining the RLM/SLM principles required to do an AX implementation to the customer. 
  The customer is responsible for after-go-live support.
- Gasunie, Groningen, NL
  Assisting partner & customer with the high-level design of different metering processes within 
  SDAS, Ferranti's solution to process big data MDM. On top of this I also got the team up to 
  speed with the SDAS architecture.
- Hitachi Solutions, Tokio, JP
  Providing localisation expertise/best practices to the partner. How to start a localisation in 
  Japan? (Market is in liberalisation phase) QA about AX/MECOMS™ architecture & processes.

MECOMS™ Expert Consultant

As an Application Consultant (Engagement) you are responsible for walking the customer through all his requirements, and customizing the product to fit these requirements. Step by step you analyze the business processes and try to map these to MECOMS™.

Furthermore you are responsible for the coaching of any developers responsible for implementing your changes. Functional designs are made, and the whole process of software implementation is done based on the Microsoft SureStep methodology. (Albeit a bit more in summary)

The 'Engagement' part is a separate department within Ferranti Professional Services that is responsible for providing resources for international projects delivered by partners. Our partners are the main contractor, however, as part of engagement services, Ferranti will deliver resources to aid in the project implementation. The big difference with the department 'Projects' is therefor that:
- Ferranti is not a main contractor
- You are very often abroad
- Chances are high you are one of the only Ferranti resources on the project, although, if it's a project of substantial size, the Ferranti team most likely consists of more than 1 resource

I am responsible, after an extensive functional & technical training, for implementing our MECOMS™ solution for our clients.

The MECOMS™ solution, is a powerful system, built upon the solid base of Dynamics AX. The main focus lies in the utilities market, and so this is the most important activity of Ferranti Computer Systems.

MECOMS™ Application Developer Home Market

Develop a unique application for the Xbox, connecting with MECOMS™ and interconnecting submeter devices.
This is a very big project, consisting of a fully custom-made GUI (None available in XNA, so I created my own dynamic UI library), and an extensive flexible backend.

As a passionate professional, I"m always eager to broaden my knowledge.
After been given the opportunity to grow and expand my soft- & hard skills, 
where I've been on an adventure of first doing development work as a developer, and ending up doing interactive customer facing design workshops, I now try to focus spreading this knowledge.

I did quite some varied tasks, just a pinch;
- Development tasks (going from Dynamics AX development, x++, to .NET development, C#)
- Release management/Application lifecycle management
- Writing of functional specifications
- Customer design workshops, going from draft to formal approved documents.
- Architecture-assessment tasks, making interface/hardware/infrastructure setup decisions
- Steering/guidance of developers
- Leading a project team
- Performing quality and performance audits within multiple projects

In some projects I had the ability to execute all of them. If I have to name my biggest 'talent', I'd say that it's the fact that I'm a really fast learner, capable of soaking up a lot of knowledge really fast, without being freightened to get lost in something unknown. I like the challenge of learning something new, whereafter I enjoy spreading this knowledge to colleagues, partners & customers. 
The most important words I was once told by a very good colleague, help me succeed in these stories: "Never be afraid to say what you know, nor be afraid to say that you don't know".

My goal is to give and take appreciation, and where possible, recommendation.
