Here in the United States, Thanksgiving means taking a moment to be thankful.
To be grateful. 
To remember.

And everyone reading this, has much to be thankful for. No matter what country you call home.

As I reflect on my own life, I am thankful for all of the difficulties that shaped me into the person I am today:

For that broken heart years ago in college.

       It taught me how to manage risk.

For the broken collarbone years ago in that terrain-park.

       It taught me how to scale without being reckless.

For being written-up for insubordination at my first job.
       It taught me how to play the game of business.

For being fired on Wall Street - repeatedly.

       It taught me cast-iron resilience.

For the real estate "investor" who stole my money when I was starting out..
       It taught me how to partner properly.

For the consulting clients who stole my time.

       They taught me how to enforce boundaries.

For all the fires of adversity, stress and pressure. Because being in that heat forged me into a much stronger weapon.

As I get older, I begin to value all the failures, mistakes and frustrations along the way. 

Because THOSE pay down the ignorance-debt we all carry - even if we don't realize it.

But more than any of this - I thank God.

I thank Him for giving me the opportunity to spend the time down here.  
To walk this Earth. 
To live a life.

To see my boys grow into the men they are becoming.

For the wife who remains my best friend.

All of us are overlooking the depth of growth we take from the brick walls and all the struggles.

If I could share only ONE lesson from my 30 years on Wall Street, it is this:

In the end, life is not about how much money we make.....
it is about what we BECOME along the way.

STARTING a company is very different from having a VISION for your company.

I find this challenge to be most severe in the tech and finance world.

Because profit is not always the same as growth.

Some founders get valued at 8x revenue.
Others get valued at 80x.
The difference...is your narrative.

This chart from The Information shows revenue multiples. 
Basically, this is what investors are willing to pay for $1 of revenue.

SaaS companies are typically valued at 8x their annual revenue
But “AI companies” are valued at almost 100x revenue

Right now, the market is massively overpaying for anything that even 𝙡𝙤𝙤𝙠𝙨 like an AI product. And not just model builders.

This applies to ANY AI-enablement that:
• Sits in the flow of money
• Generates valuable data 
• Scales 

But here’s where most founders blow it:
They pitch features (“we’re AI for XYZ”).
Meanwhile, investors don’t buy features. 
They buy 𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙤𝙢𝙞𝙘𝙨.

The smarter move is to fix your 𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞:
Something like, “𝘖𝘶𝘳 𝘪𝘯𝘧𝘳𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘦𝘯𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦𝘴 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘶𝘦 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘦𝘹𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘪𝘱𝘦𝘴.”

So if you want your Fintech to fetch AI-style multiples, 
your narrative needs to do three things:

𝟭. 𝗥𝗘𝗙𝗥𝗔𝗠𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗚𝗢𝗥𝗬
 Stop positioning as a "tool."
 Become the 𝘪𝘯𝘧𝘳𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 or 𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘻𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘭𝘢𝘺𝘦𝘳.

Your tech may be brilliant.
But your multiple is determined by your story.
And that story must be about 𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘆. 

Build a story that your prospects can repeat to their investors and limited partners

That’s narrative work.
It's not prompt engineering.

Are you a founder with a strong product and a messy story?
Don’t walk into 2026 with an 8x narrative when you’re sitting on a 20x business.

This is the work I do with founders.
Sharpen your sales narrative so the story matches your ambition.

Musk owns less than 15% of Tesla.
Bezos owns less than 10% of Amazon.

They weren't forced to give it away.
They set out to build something too big to carry alone.

The founders who try to monopolize all credit usually stall out. 
Because they surround themselves with employees.

Leaders who want to scale all do it the same way:
They build:
    -  Alliances 
    -  Partnerships 
    -  Ambassadors 
    -  Other leaders
The military would call these "force multipliers."

This is another lesson I learned from decades on Wall Street.
And it’s one of the principles guiding how I’m building Anvictus now.

I'm not seeking to scale to the moon.
But I'm also aware that business is a team sport.

And building that team.....is a skill.
One that I am trying to learn myself.

You think you need “content help.” You probably don’t.

What you really need is clarity around the story behind your products. That means your content, sales conversations, and decks all reinforce each other.

As former Wall Street, I have a continuous stream of teams in trading-tech asking me for “content help.” In almost all cases, their content challenge actually stems from something deeper:

     -  Sales conversations don’t match their decks
     -  Product value is explained differently depending on who’s talking
     -  Their story only makes sense to engineers

The root cause of the content struggle is usually one of three things:
     1   -   There’s no clear commercial narrative
     2   -   The content isn’t designed to support live deals
     3   -   Leadership hasn’t articulated a sharp point of view

This is the hard middle ground where many companies strumbe 
deep expertise vs. clear commercial storytelling.

The fix is never “more content.”  It’s:
1   - Diagnosing where the narrative breaks
2   - Aligning the story to real buyers, not internal teams
3   - Giving your sales and marketing a spine

The truth is that until your story is clear...
...your content is just noise.

A strong sales narrative has three moving parts:
     -  Positioning is how you’re DIFFERENT
     -  Narrative is what you SAY
     -  Visibility is what you POST
Miss one of these and your business starts leaking opportunities.

If people don’t “get” what you do?
That’s a Positioning + Narrative problem.
Fix those and buyers say yes faster.

If your content is unfocused or inconsistent?
That’s a Narrative + Visibility problem.
Turn your story into a weekly engine and you attract better deals.

Business is hard when we're doing random tactics.
The key is to understand the stages of their sales narrative.
 There are six of them.
 
And every one needs to be mapped with intention.

As a consultant, you think your problem is pricing.
It’s not.
Your problem is that institutional buyers can’t understand your value in under 10 seconds.

I sold tech into Wall Street for 30 years.
In that world, speed is everything.
Those buyers do not tolerate rambling.
Nor do they pay for unclear value.

Not in fintech then.
Not in consulting.
Not anywhere.

If folks can’t immediately grasp what you do, 
they just won’t buy. 
Period.

Everyone is thrilled to integrate Gemini into the managing of their Gmail.  
Sounds great on the surface because of the convenience of "managing" our inbox.  For example, enabling the “Categories” feature in Gmail will auto-segment and sort your emails.

But there is a repercussion from this development that no one is yet realizing.
Gemini removes YOUR direct access to your email subscribers.
The integration introduces a control layer in between you and your email list.

Thus, Gemini might ultimately saddle newsletters with the same "building on rented land" problem presented by the social platforms.

Handle as you see fit.
But be aware.

You think you need a better pitch...but really, you just need a clearer understanding of your own value.

I’ve watched teams run through deck redesigns, message testing, and public speaking coaching.  All while still disagreeing internally about what they actually do.

You can’t communicate clearly what you don’t understand clearly.
That’s not a confidence problem.
It’s a clarity problem.

Here's what this typically looks like:
     -  your sales team explains your product one way,
     -  your CEO explains it another,
     -  and your website tells a third story…

When this happens, your buyers don’t pick one.
They pick NONE. 
They disengage because ambiguity signals risk.

No one risks serious money on unclear thinking.
Better delivery won’t solve that.
Better slides won’t solve that.
This is about sharper internal understanding of how you help folks.

Remember that sales clarity doesn’t start in the pitch…
It starts in how honestly you’ve defined your value to yourself.

This is what happens when you don’t innovate

My personal brand is in a dry spell.

Is this you right now?

You are:
~Watching others grow faster while you feel stuck at the same spot.

~Posting consistently but hearing crickets.

Here's what I did:

1) Built in public. 
I used to sceptical about this.

Infact, I remember cringing when I made that post early November.

But it works. It keeps you accountable because people are watching.


2) Sent DMs 
6 months ago, I was terrified of sending DMs.

Now, I don’t miss it.

If you want to land clients faster, get it in Dms.


3) Get comfortable with rejection. 

Embrace them, fail and learn faster.

With every No I got, I refined my DMs and offer until I got a solid Yes!


4) Nail your positioning.

A strong positioning answers the questions:
~Who do you help?
(Get specific)
~What services do you offer?
(How you help)
~What is the outcome?
(Results/Benefits)

Once you get this, write content that reflects your positioning.

5. Fix your LinkedIn profile.

Once you nail you positioning, optimise your profile around it so it hits.
