I’m not a productivity guru.
I’ve launched 10+ ventures, started 100+ side projects, and abandoned at least as many.

Like many creative generalists, I live between sticky notes, Notion docs, WhatsApp reminders, and new startup ideas that always feel more exciting than the last.

So I’m doing what I do best: building for the mess I live in.

For the next 30 days, I’m building a micro-SaaS focused on one core challenge:
Helping creative generalists (like me) stay focused without feeling boxed in.

I’ll be building and sharing in public.

Follow me for transparent updates, lessons learned, and real progress from someone who’s deep in the chaos (and finally doing something about it).

I left the corporate ladder just a few months into a graduate traineeship.

On paper: big brand, big salary, big future.
In reality: it just didn’t feel like me. 

So I walked away.

What looked like going down the ladder led me to an early-stage climate startup.
No title. No prestige. No German company car.

From the outside, it looked like I was going backwards.
But for me, it was a giant leap forward.

For the first time, I was building something I believed in.
Learning fast. Making real decisions. Feeling alive at work.

That shift changed everything.

As we built the team and started hiring, I noticed something:
The most talented people didn't just want a job, they were looking for a mission.

I wasn’t surprised to hear this from the brightest minds.
Because work that feels pointless, for a mission you don’t believe in?
That’s not a career. That’s a slow burnout plan. 

That insight sparked Goodshift.

Iets wat ik zelf niet wist over consultancy…

In bijna elke consultancyloopbaan zitten twee kantelpunten.

Na 2–3 jaar 
Dan snap je wat de job écht inhoudt: het tempo, de druk, de verwachtingen. Dan stel je jezelf de eerlijke vraag: wil ik hier verder in groeien?

Na 5 jaar 
Dan dringt een grotere keuze zich op: ga ik vol richting partner, of kies ik bewust een ander pad?

Zowel Marie als Thomas kozen ervoor om op zo'n kantelpunt hun carrière om te gooien richting Companion.energy, waar ze zich vandaag volledig smijten op de energietransitie.

Opvallend: bij beide werkgevers werd dat kantelpunt niet afgeremd, maar erkend en ondersteund.
