Marco Lopez is a business leader, former government official, and public servant who is passionate about helping others succeed. He is the CEO of Intermestic Partners, a business advisory firm that provides strategic business development and policy direction to both international and domestic organizations.

Marco has a proven track record of success in both the public and private sectors. He served as Mayor of Nogales, Arizona, at the age of 22, and was re-elected by an overwhelming majority. He also served as Chief of Staff at the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Customs and Border Protection (CBP), where he helped lead an organization with a $13+ billion budget and 60,000 employees.

In business, Marco founded Intermestic Partners in 2011. He has also served as a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and as Senior Advisor to the Chairman of Grupo Carso and The Carlos Slim Foundation. He has also advised presidential campaigns on topics of border security and safety, border trade and commerce, and economic development.

Marco is a passionate advocate for Arizona and its people. He believes that every Arizonan has the potential to succeed and that Arizona is a special place where anything is possible if you work hard and have a vision.

Founded in 1993, the Hispanic College Fund (HCF) is a national non-profit organization based in Washington, D.C., with a mission to develop the next generation of Hispanic professionals. For nearly 20 years, the Hispanic College Fund has provided educational, scholarship, and mentoring programs to students throughout the United States and Puerto Rico, establishing a career pipeline of talented and career-driven Hispanics.

The Hispanic College Fund annually awards millions of dollars, impacting thousands of students through high school to college and into career. HCF has been recognized by USA Today as one of the nation’s top 25 charities and has twice received Charity Navigator’s top four-star rating for fiscal responsibility. In 2010, the College Board recognized HCF for program innovation.

We accomplish our mission by providing high school and college students with the vision, resources, and mentorship needed to become community leaders and achieve successful careers in business, science, technology, engineering and math.

The Hispanic College Fund has awarded nearly $15 million in scholarships to more than 5,400 Hispanic youth and has expanded its programs to include the Hispanic Youth Institute, Hispanic Professionals Institute, HCF University Chapters, and the NASA One Stop Shopping Initiative.  These programs help connect successful Hispanic professionals and corporate sponsors to HCF scholars in order to equip students with the vision and resources needed to succeed.
