• Spearheaded comprehensive market study to understand the data and analytic needs and pain-points of homeowners' insurance carriers and used that insight to define new products.
• Worked closely with team of seasoned statisticians and modelers to define product requirements and manage product development.

Sr. Market Director, P&C Property Insurance Solutions Division

Healthcare was a newly created business unit to bring risk solutions capabilities to this sector.

• Strategic Planning. Managed the analysis and development of the annual strategic planning process in collaboration with Finance, Sales, and Operations. Developed detailed business case for new HR Administrative Services Offering (ASO) targeting SMEs, resulting in ADP's competitive entry in the ASO market.
• Business Development. Conceived and developed a comprehensive vertical marketing initiative, targeting under-penetrated industries based on pricing, retention and revenues. Led a four-person marketing and product development team to create industry-specific solutions and marketing programs, and established alliances with top industry associations to get qualified leads.
• Competitive Analysis. Created competitive intelligence (CI) tracking process, involving systematic collection of competitive data from a variety of sources, including over 250 field personnel, resulting in the preparation of comprehensive quarterly CI reports distributed to Sales, Operations, and Executive Management and enabling ADP TotalSource to be steps ahead of competitors. 

ADP was my first corporate job after BCG and I lucked out: wonderful colleagues, collegial atmosphere, exciting work. I was a new mom and never felt I had to choose between being a good mom and a good employee.

IFC - International Finance Corporation

The International Finance Corporation (IFC) is the private sector investment arm of the World Bank Group. IFC makes investments (debt, equity, quasi-equity) in the private sectors of developing countries to promote sustainable economic growth and private sector investment.

Worked in IFC's Latin America and Health & Education Groups.  Conducted due diligence, built complex financial models, undertook detailed valuation and credit analyses, developed appropriate investment structures, prepared investment memos, and negotiated investment terms. Performed on-site due diligence and investment follow-up in Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Colombia and Guatemala.
• Deal Sourcing. Helped shape the Health and Education department deal sourcing process, substantially increasing the visibility of this newly-created division. Organized road show event bringing together 20+ South American educational institutions to market IFC capabilities.
• Deal Structuring. Developed detailed analysis of deal structure and terms for seven transactions in challenging investment markets. Participated in US$45M financial restructuring of a Brazilian ceramic manufacturer following Brazil’s 1999 currency devaluation. Debt restructuring brought in US$12M+ in P&L savings for client.
• Portfolio Management. Analyzed and monitored the operational and financial performance of five portfolio companies totaling US$120M of invested capital. Prepared and presented quarterly reports to IFC Portfolio Committee on investments’ performance. Industries covered included consumer goods and services, retail, building materials, and general manufacturing.

IFC was a special place. I worked in the most diverse environment with people who truly cared and I got to see the visible and lasting impact generated by our projects both in the private and the public sectors.

I'm sitting in a carrier's conference room, watching a vendor wrap up a sleek AI claims demo.

Fast triage.
Clean interface.
Impressive accuracy.

Then the claims leader next to me asks:
"𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗺𝘆 𝗮𝗱𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗷𝗼𝗯𝘀?"

Silence.

The vendor searches his slides like the answer might be hiding in 8-point font, then pivots to cycle times and cost per claim.

The claims leader nods. But I watch the energy leave the room, not because the tech was weak, but because the human question wasn’t part of the story.

I flew home thinking about that silence.
And it changed the way I listen in demos.

Here's what I've learned separates InsurTech vendors who get traction from those who stall:

1️⃣ 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗽, 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺
Insurance isn’t e-commerce. The adjuster calling a policyholder after a house fire isn’t a bottleneck to be automated. She’s the reason the policyholder renews.

The best tools elevate her judgment, cut the grunt work, and surface sharper information exactly when she needs it. Peter Piotrowski put it well in his recent Digital Insurance article: technology should pass the "does it elevate our people" test.

2️⃣ 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗮 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻…𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴
Carriers don’t struggle with 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 to adopt AI. They struggle with 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘵 when systems are older than half the team and institutional knowledge lives in the heads of adjusters nearing retirement.

Vendors who win help carriers pick one practical, high-impact starting point and bring people along without losing what makes them good.

3️⃣ 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗼
The AI tools carriers can't live without rarely start glamorous...shaving 30 minutes off a repetitive task or surfacing a critical detail at the exact moment it matters.

But the companies gaining real traction use that early trust to go deeper, shifting from "nice efficiency boost" to "load-bearing infrastructure." That's the difference between a point solution and a long-term partner.

I think about that claims leader often. He wasn’t trying to derail the deal. He was offering a roadmap to win it:

Answer that - clearly and specifically - and you won’t watch a room go quiet again.
