I worked with a business team made up of several external acquisitions and one inside start up to build market positions in transportation, smart grid communications and military wireless.  In each of these areas I directed activity that resulted in quickly assessing the current contour of the market, identifying the lead customers, finding the inflection point and targeting product and services offerings into that our go to market team could effectively field.  Once these beachhead positions were established we worked with the core business teams to scale the learning’s into the larger go to market organization.

Results
•	Transportation – Developed government deals & commercial agreements fortune 100 partners that expanded business partnerships and resulted in $10MM sales in 2011.
•	Smart Grid:  Built customer intelligence into a new industry offering that exceeded sales targets by 50% in year the first year, doubling thereafter.
•	Military Wireless – Launched an offering into the emerging COTS space that was on track for full qualification into nomadic mobility application

Sr. Director, Vertical Market Development

In this role I was selected to spearhead “product-to-market”, new business development, and sales generation strategies for new product, MOTODRIVE.  I led entire division activities as a stand-alone business within company.  I recruited, hired, and trained top-qualified people and installed an internal board of directors.  I also served as company spokesperson for industry trade groups and existing / potential customers.

Results
•	Developed an investment strategy that built a $10M first year sales funnel in partnership with automotive sector senior managers and provided a holistic approach that extended the technology roadmap including new product development strategies, product requirements and specifications, and sales and marketing techniques.
•	Grew business operations from startup phase to $500K in bottom-line contributions in just 2 years that impacted revenue performance and attained $10M by 2009 / 2010.
•	Established a world-class marketing group and developed a huge marketing presence within 12 months of product launch and design.
•	Earned 2006 Best of ITS award for MOTODRIVE’s innovative research and development process

Director Engineering Technology

In this assignment I orchestrated a comprehensive turnaround and revamp of product line plagued with declining profit margins and restricted revenues due to cyclical industry demand.  I directed the installation of global factories in China and Malaysia to match increasing demand for cellular products.  Our team drove efforts to revise product design, market mix, manufacturing operations, and overall business model.  We personally went to the field and partnered with sales alliances and distributors in Europe, Asia, and Middle East to establish OEM component business.

Results
•	Trained and coached top-performing teams to increase existing sales volume and maximize new sales opportunities with Nokia, Lucent, and Philips. 
•	Doubled sales volume in three years and reversed trend of operating losses from -$1M lost per month to a consistent 10% profit margin.
•	Championed a factory expansion project that increase output by 200% included $10M capital equipment, facility, and personnel changes Managed 500 employees for $100M operation.

Technical Operations Engineering Manager, Automation	1992 – 1996
Recruited team of 120 engineers on projected to design, manufacture, and mechanize the first automated, quartz crystal assembly line.
Bottom-line Impact and Results
•	Employed Six Sigma principles to successfully complete deployment and launch full operations within 20 months.
•	Cost and quality improved as a result of carefully managed introductions of highly leveraged automated processes
