AI safety report: nobody gets an A

A recent AI Safety Index assessed 8 major AI model developers across 35 indicators in 6 areas. The headline: no company scores above C+ overall.

Only 3 of 7 companies (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google DeepMind) report any testing for dangerous capabilities like bio or cyber terrorism risks. And even those efforts lack clear standards.

Anthropic scored highest partly because they don't train on user data, lead in alignment research and operate as a Public Benefit Corporation.

Chinese firms Zhipu.AI and DeepSeek received failing grades, though they operate under stricter national AI regulations which makes self-governance less prominent.

The gap between capability development and safety practices keeps growing. AI systems now write, code, search and act on our behalf. But most companies building them can't demonstrate concrete safety processes or clear thresholds for when to pause deployment.

As MIT professor Max Tegmark put it: the purpose isn't to shame anyone. It's to show where things actually stand.

#Greenland's got rare earths for 25% of world demand. Oil and gas reserves nearly equal to America's. Copper, graphite, nickel - everything you need for green energy and military tech.

#Europe's moved on exactly 2 mines: one for gold, one for feldspar (glass-making).

#Denmark gave Greenlanders control of their resources in 2009. Greenland banned uranium mining in 2021, which killed rare earth projects since they're found together. Major mine stuck in legal limbo for years.

EU woke up in 2023, signed some mining cooperation deals. 

Too late.

Climate change is melting the ice cap, making Greenland accessible. Coast's already navigable like Norway. Resources easier to reach every year.

Trump watched Europe fumble this for 15 years and now he's threatening to just take it. Venezuela proved he's serious about building resource empires through force.

Europe's problem: they respected Greenland's democratic process and environmental concerns. 

Trump just won't.

Zapisi na temo plemenitih kovin, surovin in makroekonomije, ki jih najbudneje spremljam, so bili v "duhu časa", a dolgoročni, s pogledom naprej. Posebej me veseli, da se določene teze, čeprav s časovno spremenljivko, uresničujejo in so imele za bralce "ugoden" učinek, če so jih znali izkoristiti.

Spodaj delim moj članek iz leta 2020 ob ceni srebra $24 in zlatu pri $1.900 za 31,10 g unčo. Cena #srebra se trenutno nahaja nad $90 za 31,10 g unčo ob trenutnemu razmerju zlato/srebro 1:54. A pri tem razmerju ne bo ostalo, saj je pot srebra kot del najpomembnejših surovin prav tako razdeljena na etape, ki jih običajno spremljajo večje cenovne nihajnosti-cikličnost, tako navzgor kot navzdol.

Pri #srebru je zato ključen premišljen, individualno prilagojen pristop, saj univerzalni odgovori v takšnih fazah redko delujejo. Še posebej, če se vključi kratkoročna neracionalnost in pohlep. Teh pa se je dobro izogniti pravi čas.

💡 Upam, da se teh pomembnih informacijah pravočasno informirate in zavzamete dolgoročni pogled. Tako je vse lažje.

 Njegov delež v svetovnih rezervah pada. Nobena druga valuta ga ni nadomestila. Nadomešča ga zlato.

 Donosi 30-letnih japonskih obveznic blizu 4 % kažejo, da popušča temelj finančnega sistema.
