I started as the Director of Finance & Supply Chain. I could have stayed in this position and oversaw financial reporting and supply chain compliance activities. And that would have been fine...

But, that’s not me. 

Most of my colleagues described me as a “dog with a bone.” 

If there was a problem to solve, I was hungry to solve it. 

Because of my voracity to solve deep problems of inefficiencies and help the finance and supply chain function not be seen as just another back-office necessity, I was eventually promoted to CFO and oversaw the financial strategy of a group of 7+ entities with total combined revenues of greater than $100M. 

I did this while still overseeing the supply chain strategy and development of our business, helping acquire and oversee 2 entities, starting a new ecommerce venture, and selling our parent company and forming an ESOP. 

I achieved my mission of changing the perception of a CFO from “number-cruncher” to strategic business partner.

They have over 1,000 daily users of their systems, host stadium events attended by 10s of thousands annually, send thousands of people around the world annually on mission trips, host a contact database of over 400,000 contacts and maintain multiple web sites to name a few of the data management challenges they face.

Responsibilities: Ported a lead import tool originally written in ColdFusion to C# running on the .NET framework. The results of my port have been a more stable, more reliable application that has dropped the average import time from 4 hours to 45 minutes. Following this I split the tool into a Windows client that calls a .NET Web Service that is used for real time lead importing. I also created a de-duping tool in Visual Basic .NET for de-duping leads after the import. I was also responsible for updating two photo registration applications that where written in MFC/C++ and used COM objects for image

Senior Application Developer

NetAccountability

NetAccountability is a Christian ministry that helps people who struggle with Pornography and other inappropriate material accessed over the Internet. NetAccountability monitors all TCP traffic on a users machine. It utilizes a set of TDI drivers to capture content that is then evaluated to determine if inappropriate material has been accessed. Using a proprietary algorithm, the client rates inappropriate content, then time stamps and encrypts a payload that is sent over the Internet to a proprietary IOCP server (running as an NT service) which records the access in the users secure log.

I worked on two teams at Nortel. The last was a small team with a charter to design system level software to take advantage of hardware that would be available at least 3 years out, but no more than 5 years out. This team was working on a ubiquitous messaging system to be deployed on wearable computer platforms. Prior to this, I worked on the CS3K VoIP Softswitch project. Both teams did all work in Java 2 / Swing. 

Responsibilities: GUI design, architecture and implementation. Auto-GUI generator

Windows On WallStreet (now TradeStation)

Window On WallStreet produces and sells trading software for both historical and real-time stock analysis.

Responsibilities: Wrote and maintained our Real-time Internet news client, a server monitoring application and various other utilities used in the Window On WallStreet trading software.

Senior Software Engineer

InterGO Communications, Inc.

InterGo Communications produced a suite of Internet applications that included a browser, E-mail, NNTP news reader, FTP client, Telnet client, Server-side Internet directory and SafeSurf content monitoring software.

Responsibilities: Design and implementation of NNTP news reader, portions of E-mail, graphics and Wizards used throughout the application.

MobileWare Corporation

MobileWare produced software for sending, receiving and viewing email and fax from wireless/mobile phone enabled connections. 

Responsibilities: GUI design / implemenation. Installation application maintenance.
