Indirectly headed a cross functional team of ~80 advisors and stakeholders (Tax/ Corporate Engineering/International Controllership). Led the Tax workstream for cross-functional and product area projects related to transparency of certain intercompany transactions with Technical Infrastructure, Devices and Services, Fixed Assets, Payroll, and Legal. Oversaw tax transformation delivery of tax requirements across 83 countries for all tax types. Led implementation of tax engines and simplification of tax fixed asset reporting.

Oversaw all aspects of corporate tax analysis on treasury-related issues including financial instruments, debt structuring, hedge programs, foreign exchange (FX), cash management, and other treasury transactions and initiatives. Implemented processes for internal tax procedures, and created & communicated tax guidelines to cross-functional teams. Evaluated tax implications related to new transactions and managed tax audits for all foreign and domestic jurisdictions. Served as lead implementation and technical resource for section 87(1m). Collaborated cross-functionally to ensure updated education on various tax-related functions and regulation packages. Drafted and implemented critical policies. Reviewed trading documents including GMRA, trade confirms, and ISDAs as well as the appropriateness of financial products in BlackRock portfolios. Performed as the tax technical lead of taxation of securities lending arrangements, financial instruments, and Foreign Account Compliance Act “FATCA” and the Common Reporting Standard “CRS” implementation. Oversaw securities lending program valued at $3T+ ensuring adherence to regulations as well as local country tax returns prepared by external providers.  Analyzed new lending opportunities including capital gains and withholding tax issues.
